PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Woohun Do (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Leroy Goins (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Goins has chosen 50 Cent- God Gave me style as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Fingers crossed for an exciting fight - I'm sure both fighters are looking for a nice under the table bonus!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 16 - 8 - 3, fighting out of Tokyo, Woohun Do!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 23 - 11 - 1, fighting out of Tokyo, Leroy Goins!
The judges for this bout are Ren Mimura, Kenichi Hosakawa and Shirou Masuda.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Do lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Goins at a distance.
Do comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.
Goins on the wrong end of a decent looking cross there.
Do feints a jab promting Goins to slip. Do then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Goins slips again and ducks right into an uppercut.
Do connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son.
Do lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected.
Goins tries to clinch there but Do circles away.
Do scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.
A slapping leg kick lands for Do.
Goins connects with a single shot there.
Do looks to score with a jab to the body but Goins is just out of range.
Do works the jab nicely.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Goins tries to move into range but Do moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand.
A clash of legs there as Do blocks the low kick.
Goins drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles.
Goins stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Goins wants it to stay on the feet.
Do moves out of range as Goins strikes.
Do throws a big shot that misses.
Do misses with a hook.
Do pushing out the jab but it's not landing.
Goins cracks Do with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd.

Do works Goins's body with a nice hook.
Do scores with the left hand. Goins knows he should have avoided that one.
We've been hearing reports that Do has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight.
Goins checks the leg kick nicely there.
Do misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Goins looks for a takedown but Do sprawls well.
Goins tries to land a front kick but Do steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.
Do shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Goins as he avoids it easily.
Goins is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.

Do walks forward and throws out a flicking leg kick. Goins checks it nicely though, as he moves to the side.
Do wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.
Do lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Goins avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Goins looks to land a right hand but Do moved out of range.

Do manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Goins on his heels. He'll look to pass Goins's guard now, I'm sure.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.
Goins looking to hit a scissor sweep but Do is one step ahead there.
Hammerfist, elbow! yells Do's corner. There ya go! There ya go!

Goins bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Do's guard.
Do pulls Goins in close to his closed guard and prevents Goins from doing any damage or advancing position.
Do is trying to keep Goins in close.

Goins throws an elbow that misses. Do uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Goins's guard. Nice move by Do!
Do cracks Goins with a solid left hand.
Goins wants to sweep but no luck.

Do with a flurry of punches that miss.
Do throwing strikes from guard but Goins blocks nicely.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Do accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Do is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
Do keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Goins's head.
Do scores with a decent looking elbow strike.
Goins manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!

Goins has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Do's face.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Poor strikes thrown by Goins there. More accuracy and less frantic strikes would help!

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Do is desperately trying to improve his position but Goins has a good base and remains in mount.

Goins sends his fist crashing into the mat - the crowd let out a collective ooooooh. Let's hope he's not broken it!

That was a close round but I would say that Woohun Do will probably get the nod.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Do goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.

Do is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Goins has a hand on Do's thigh, trying to get back to full guard. Do takes advantage of the position though and mounts him!
