Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Rumba Da (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and James Thomas (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Thomas has chosen a violent reaction as his entrance music. Rumba Da has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, James Thomas!
The judges for this bout are Cecil Peabody, Gwen Towbar and Tiny Johnson.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Da misses with a hook
and Thomas counters with a body kick.
Da fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Da throws a left and a right that both miss
and Thomas counters with a nice low kick that buckles Da's knee momentarily.
Da misses with a left hand
enabling Thomas to counter with a crisp jab.
Da swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Thomas is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Thomas bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Da throws a lazy right hand but Thomas sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.

Da is really struggling to find his range with his punches. Thomas's reach advantage is clearly causing him problems.

Thomas changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Da tries to avoid it but Thomas manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Da to the ground. Da escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Rumba Da has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of James Thomas.

Da throws a series of punches but Thomas moves out of range.
Da missing with a left hand there. Thomas was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
Da thows a body shot but no joy.

Rumba Da seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Da is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Thomas.
Thomas tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Da manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.

The fighters are pressed against the cage, as the pace of the fight slows.
A frustrated look appears on Da's face as he tries to break the clinch.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Da wants to break free but Thomas has control.

Da throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.

and Thomas counters with a body kick that stops Da in his tracks momentarily.

Da swings widly with a right hand
and Thomas counters with a straight right hand.
Da misses with a wild combination.
Thomas misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
