Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Salamon Manguba!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Master Miyagi!
The judges for this bout are Alan Glass, Gwen Towbar and George Francis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Manguba shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Manguba was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
Miyagi wants to control but Manguba postures up.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Miyagi can do anything to dispel that myth.

Miyagi sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard.

Manguba is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Manguba will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Manguba is trying to control the action in half guard but Miyagi is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.

Manguba escapes and gets back to his feet.
Manguba shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Miyagi defends it nicely.
Miyagi looks for a takedown but Manguba sprawls well.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Miyagi rushes Manguba and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Miyagi is working for takedown but Manguba is calmly controlling the position for now.
Manguba landing some nice looking knees to the body.
Miyagi looks winded!

Miyagi gets double underhooks and manages to take the fight to the ground.
My spies in Tuco O Tapa inform me that Miyagi has been getting involved in the gym's BJJ sparring sessions. Let's see whether that pays dividends!

Manguba manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Miyagi manages to get himself to full guard.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Manguba tries to free his leg and advance position but Miyagi is retaining full guard.
Miyagi tries to land a sweep but no joy.

Manguba drops back for a leg here. A bit of a high risk move... He's looking for a kneebar by the looks of things. Now both of them are looking for submissions. Manguba seems to have locked his on tight now - Miyagi screams in pain and taps out furiously! It certainly was a high risk move but it's paid off for Manguba, as he picks up the win!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:55 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kneebar). Salamon Manguba!
