Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Rick Grimes !
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 9 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Randy Jones!
The judges for this bout are , Timothy Bukovac and Frank Antenori.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jones getting the better of the striking in that exchange.
Grimes moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination.


It looks like Randy Jones has been cut.
Jones scores with a nice strike.
Jones scores with a body shot.
Jones bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Grimes 's head backwards.
Grimes throws a series of punches but Jones avoids them all with ease.
Grimes lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Jones circles away quickly and effectively.
Jones scores with a one two! Grimes had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Grimes takes one on the chin but seems OK.
Grimes thows a body shot but no joy.
Grimes fails with a takedown attempt.
Randy Jones seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Jones has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Grimes uses from the top position.
Jones is trying to hold Grimes in close to prevent damage but Grimes has managed to pass into half guard.

Jones throws a leg kick but Grimes sees it coming and moves out of range.

Jones needs to keep his hands up - Grimes had a free shot at his head there.
Grimes lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Jones circles away quickly and effectively.
Grimes throws a nice looking combination but Jones bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Good work by Grimes as he checks the leg kick.

Grimes tries to clinch up but Jones circles away and keeps his distance.
No joy there for Jones, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Grimes swats away the attempt to clinch by Jones.
Jones fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Grimes manages to avoid it.
Grimes on the wrong end of a nice jab.

Grimes closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Grimes lands in his opponent's guard.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Jones has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Grimes can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Grimes got a little sloppy there for a moment and Jones has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Grimes has managed to get both his arms back between Jones's legs - danger averted.

Jones working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Grimes doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Grimes manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Jones had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Grimes defends it easily.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Grimes accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Grimes drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Jones manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Grimes has Jones in his guard.

Jones wants to stand and escape but instead Grimes has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.
Jones not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!

Grimes decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.
Jones wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Grimes throws a series of punches but Jones moves out of range.
Grimes throws a right and a left that both miss.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Grimes lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Jones circles away quickly and effectively.
Grimes gets cracked there but stands up to it.
Grimes avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Jones's corner calls for a 1, 2 combination and Jones duly obliges.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's time! Grimes 's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.



Jones takes the fight into the clinch.
Jones has Grimes pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Grimes manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.
Grimes changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Jones fights it off and pushes away nicely.
Jones lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
A decent looking cross lands there for Jones.
Randy Jones seems to be getting the better of the standup.
Jones connects with a crisp jab.
Jones punishes Grimes 's body with a nice straight punch.
Grimes keeps the fight on the outside.

Rick Grimes is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Grimes takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming.

Grimes wants to slow Jones down by chopping away at his legs.

Jones lands a nice shot that snaps Grimes 's head back.
Jones throws a right and a left that Grimes avoids nicely.
Jones lands with a good body shot.
Grimes dips to his left and cracks Jones with an uppercut!
Grimes ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Jones moves away.
Jones tests Grimes 's chin there with a solid looking shot.

Grimes takes a swing at Jones's ribcage but misses.
Sloppy strikes from Grimes . Those never looked like landing.

Jones pushes Grimes up against the cage in a clinch.

Grimes breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Jones is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot.

Grimes closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so.
Grimes looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Grimes throws a shot from downtown. Jones moves away and avoids it.
Jones moving in and out of range nicely, whilst landing the scoring shot.


Grimes is rocked!
Jones comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.
Oh Grimes is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Jones defending well as Grimes loads up on a big left hand.
Grimes seems to have got his legs back now.
Grimes throws an overhand right that lands on Jones's shoulder, as Jones tries to avoid the shot.
Jones paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button.
Grimes looks like he's developed a pretty tasty lump over his left eye. He'll need to avoid taking much more damage to that.
Jones shoots in and drives through. Grimes sprawls well.
Grimes tries to clinch up but Jones circles away and keeps his distance.
A combination from Jones does no damage.
Good exchange - Jones coming out on top.
Grimes blocks a low kick nicely.
Grimes looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple.
A big right from Jones misses.
A punch combination from Grimes misses.

Jones drops Grimes with a naaaaasty hook - Grimes is in real trouble here! Jones dives in to side control and pounds out his opponent for a TKO victory! The crowd goes nuts!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:06 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Randy Jones!
A relieved looking Randy Jones thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
