Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Thomas Hatcher (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and James Thomas (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Thomas has chosen a violent reaction as his entrance music. James Thomas will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Thomas Hatcher!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, James Thomas!
The judges for this bout are Chris Downing, Daniel Franklin and Alan Glass.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Hatcher clinches with his opponent.
Hatcher is trying to drag Thomas to the mat but Thomas just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.
Thomas avoids a wild elbow strike from Hatcher.
Thomas goes for a body shot but it's blocked.
Thomas tries to pull guard but Hatcher holds him up against the cage and eventually Thomas drops back down to his feet.
Hatcher's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not.
Hatcher looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now.
Thomas prevents Hatcher from breaking the clinch.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Thomas tries for a takedown. No joy.
Hatcher lands a nice uppercut.

Thomas escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Thomas is trying hard to land a takedown here. Hatcher sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
Thomas Hatcher has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of James Thomas.
No luck for Hatcher with that takedown attempt.
Hatcher shoots for a double leg takedown but Thomas sprawls well. He's pushed Hatcher's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

Hatcher drops Thomas with a beautiful combination! Thomas stares up at his opponent, who ushers him back to his feet - Hatcher is looking for the KO!


Thomas is rocked!


It looks like James Thomas has been cut.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Thomas shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Thomas is still on wobbly legs! Can Hatcher finish him?
Hatcher shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Thomas as he avoids it easily.

Hatcher closes the distance and clinches.
Thomas seems to have recovered his senses.
Thomas has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Hatcher is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.
Hatcher wants to break the clinch but can't.
Thomas avoiding damage as Hatcher throws knees to the body.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Hatcher goes for a takedown in the clinch but Thomas prevents it.
Hatcher tries for a takedown. No joy.
Thomas displaying some good clinch control by pressing Hatcher up against the cage.
Thomas is trying to force a seperation but Hatcher has the dominant position.
Hatcher is trying to pull guard but Thomas has him pressed against the cage.
Hatcher gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Thomas.
Thomas is trying to drag Hatcher to the mat but Hatcher just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Hatcher is trying to break the clinch but Thomas is controlling him.
Hatcher has Thomas pressed against the cage, preventing Thomas from circling away and getting back to striking at range.
Hatcher fails to pull the fight into his guard.
Hatcher is pressed up against the cage. Thomas has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Hatcher down to the mat. Hatcher avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.
Hatcher misses with a takedown attempt - Thomas sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Thomas tries for a takedown but Hatcher sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Thomas looking to land some kicks to the body here.

Hatcher moves into the clinch successfully.
With the fighters up against the cage, Thomas throws an elbow but misses.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Hatcher jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Thomas walks away with a smile on his face. Hatcher gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Hatcher fails with a takedown attempt.
The fight stays on the outside here - Thomas looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
The sound of bone on bone echoes around the arena as Hatcher checks a leg kick.
Hatcher finds nothing but air with that leg kick attempt.
Hatcher stuffs the takedown attempt from Thomas. Thomas gets slowly back to his feet.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Hatcher catches Thomas with a right, a left, a right. It's raining punches and Thomas forgot an umbrella! Another punch and he's down. This one is over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:52 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). Thomas Hatcher!
