Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Patryck Mendes!
The judges for this bout are Luis Engracia, Seu Braga and Mauricio Rocha.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

and Santiago counters with a takedown into side control.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.

Mendes tries to buck Santiago off but Santiago is having none of it.
Mendes tries to slip a leg under to move to half guard but Santiago presses down on the leg and jumps into full mount!

Santiago is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Mendes is surviving well by controlling Santiago's body position as best he can.

Santiago is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Mendes can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.

Santiago wants to finish this one by submission but Mendes is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Santiago.

Santiago drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Santiago jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Mendes is actively looking for submissions from his back. He's worked himself a little space on the bottom and seems to be going for a triangle. No, he's switched into an armbar! That was slick! Santiago rolls with it to try and escape but Mendes cranks on the arm and Santiago is forced to tap out! This one is aaaaaaaaall over!
