Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Mickey Conner (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Georges St Pierre (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). St Pierre comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Man Ah Bad Man kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Both fighter's entrance songs getting the crowd jumping here.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Mickey Conner!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Georges St Pierre!
The judges for this bout are Eliza Hachem, Skip Squint and Donatello Bradman.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Conner gets a takedown into half guard.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.
St Pierre moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.

Conner really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Conner is sneakily working for an arm triangle but St Pierre sees it coming and defends easily.

Conner is trying to control the action in half guard but St Pierre is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
Conner winds up and cracks St Pierre with a swinging punch to the side of the head.

Conner seems to have lost interest with the ground game and is thinking about standing back up.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if St Pierre can do anything to dispel that myth.

Conner is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so St Pierre is just riding it out for now. Conner eventually gives up the hold.

That was a close round but I would say that Mickey Conner will probably get the nod.

You can see the frustration on Conner's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

Georges St Pierre has got the better of the ground game so far.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
St Pierre throws a knee to the body but it doesn't do much damage.
Conner is trying to improve his position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Georges St Pierre showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's time! Conner's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. This is the final round!

St Pierre shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.

St Pierre feints and as Conner raises his hands in defense, St Pierre changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.

Conner has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. St Pierre is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Conner.

St Pierre unloads with some vicious shots from mount and Conner wants out - he looks towards the referee who steps in to save him! St Pierre celebrates on the cage and the crowd goes wild!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:22 of round 3, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Georges St Pierre!
Georges St Pierre decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
