Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Junior Avalon (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Peter Tosh (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Avalon comes to the cage accompanied by Eye of the Tiger. Tosh has chosen Stepping Razor as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Avalon tries for a takedown but Tosh sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Avalon moves to clinch but Tosh breaks away

so Tosh counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Tosh trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Avalon pulls Tosh in close to his closed guard and prevents Tosh from doing any damage or advancing position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Tosh is looking to advance position but Avalon has hit a scissor sweep - now he's on top in mount!

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Avalon connects with a nice short shot to Tosh's temple.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Tosh has his foot on Avalon's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Avalon works his way back into a safe position though.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
