The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sloppy strikes from Carman. Those never looked like landing.
Mizar misses with a two punch combination.
Carman slips a jab and a cross from Mizar.
Mizar stuffs the takedown.
Mizar throws a nice looking combination but Carman bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Mizar cracks Carman with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd.
Shido Mizar seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Mizar lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Carman backs up against the cage.
Carman misses with a few strikes there.

Mizar's corner calls for a 1-2. Mizar obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range.
Mizar connects with a nice looking jab.
Carman wants to clinch up but Mizar keeps it at a distance.
Danga de danga de dang - Carman scores with a four punch combination!
Carman takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Mizar connects with a body shot.
Carman dodges the punch combination from Mizar.

Mizar throws a shot from downtown. Carman moves away and avoids it.
Mizar swats away the attempt to clinch by Carman.

Carman shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Mizar is trying to defend but Carman finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.
Carman thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Mizar's head.

Carman connects with a right that clearly hurt Mizar. He's backed up against the cage with nowhere to go as Carman proceeds to tee off with vicious combinations till Mizar collapses and taps out under the pressure!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:24 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Chris Carman!
A pretty intense looking Chris Carman took the opportunity post-fight to ask for a shot at the title.
