Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between William Hatfield (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Micky Ward (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Hatfield comes to the cage accompanied by Country Boy Can Survive. I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Micky Ward was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
No luck with that takedown attempt from Hatfield.
Ward misses with an uppercut. Hatfield saw that one coming.
Hatfield misses with a takedown attempt - Ward sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Ward throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Hatfield.

Hatfield moves into the clinch successfully.
Ward is pressed up against the cage. Hatfield has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Ward down to the mat. Ward avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.

Hatfield shoots in and drives through. Ward sprawls well.
Ward misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Ward bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Hatfield's head.
Ward misses with a hook. Hatfield ducked under it nicely.
Ward stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Ward wants it to stay on the feet.
Ward throws a front kick that sends Hatfield stumbling back into the cage.
Horrible takedown by Hatfield or perhaps it was just good defense by Ward which made him look bad.

Hatfield tries to clinch but Ward moves away
and Ward counters with a straight punch to the midsection.

Ward throws a series of punches but Hatfield moves out of range.
Nice uppercut lands for Ward. That snapped Hatfield's head back.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Ward lunges at Hatfield with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Hatfield's hand.

Hatfield is rocked!
Hatfield gets clipped by a big right hand and goes down spinning to the canvas! Ward gets the back mount and begins to drop bombs on his rocked foe! Hatfield is too out of it to defend against the strikes and the referee jumps in to save him from the beatdown!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:21 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Micky Ward!
A very excited looking Micky Ward rambled incoherently for about 5 minutes post fight about how awesome he is. It was kinda funny for a while but then everyone got annoyed.
