Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Burt Stuart (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Oquzhan Baysal (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Burt Stuart!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Oquzhan Baysal!
The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, and Don Winkell.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Stuart cracks Baysal with an open hand slap.

Stuart has closed the distance and engaged Baysal in a clinch.
Baysal pushes off an throws an elbow but Stuart leans to the side and avoids it. We're back to clinching against the cage.
A real battle for position is taking place between these two warriors.

Stuart decides to pull guard.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
Stuart controlling Baysal's posture.
Stuart looking to hit a scissor sweep but Baysal is one step ahead there.

That's one minute gone in the round.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.

Stuart has closed the distance and engaged Baysal in a clinch.

Stuart pulls guard.
Baysal wants to stand and escape but instead Stuart has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.
Stuart with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal.
Stuart works a leg free and moves into half guard.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Stuart is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Baysal has managed to free his arm - good work.
Stuart tries to pass the half guard into mount. Baysal knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
Baysal pushes Stuart off looking to stand but Stuart dives back in and keeps control.
Baysal looks winded!
Stuart content to sit in half guard and control for a moment.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Stuart has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
BOOM! Stuart connects with a massive shot to the dome!
Stuart controlling from mount.
Stuart's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Burt Stuart dominated that round.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.


Stuart will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

Stuart moves into the clinch.

Stuart lands a nice trip takedown into half guard.
Baysal looks like he's trying to stand up.
Stuart controlling the action here.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Stuart is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Baysal defends it well.
Baysal pushes Stuart off but Stuart dives into side control.
Baysal is breathing heavily.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Stuart taking a breather here.
Stuart lands an elbow.
Stuart landing with strikes to the head and body from side control.

Stuart tries for a kimura but Baysal is defending well.
Stuart connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused Baysal some visible discomfort.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Stuart passes to full mount! That's big trouble for Baysal!
Stuart controlling the position easily from mount.
Stuart has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
Stuart really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Burt Stuart dominated that second round.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! This is the final round!



Baysal tries to keep at a distance but Stuart has taken the fight into the clinch.

Stuart tightens his grip and picks Baysal up, before dumping him to the ground. Baysal manages to land in guard.
Stuart controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.

That's one minute gone in the round.

We're going to have a standup here because Burt Stuart wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.

Stuart gets a clinch.

Stuart jumps into guard, dragging Baysal to the mat.

Baysal stands up from guard. Let's bang!

Stuart drives through with a takedown into guard.
Baysal takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Stuart stands up from guard. Let's bang!

Stuart shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Stuart looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Baysal with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
Stuart looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.
Stuart moves into full mount! Baysal won't be happy about that!

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Stuart controlling the pace for now.
Stuart pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Stuart looking to finish Baysal with some ground and pound. This is bad for Baysal!
Stuart takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Stuart in mount throwing good strikes here, bouncing his opponent's head off the canvas.

And that's the end of the fight!
Burt Stuart showed his dominance in that final round.
Well Stuart has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
