St Pierre bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Ahuna's head backwards.

St Pierre is trying to pull guard but Ahuna turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch.

Ahuna has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by St Pierre after a bit of a struggle.

Ahuna shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has St Pierre pinned against the cage. St Pierre gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
St Pierre has been working on his balance at Lawson MMA (UK), so perhaps that has help him stuff some of the takedown attempts by Ahuna.

Ahuna tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but St Pierre defends well and Ahuna ends up having to push St Pierre into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.

Ahuna takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.

Ahuna has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.

Ahuna is trying desperately to land a takedown but St Pierre is having absolutely none of it. This is turning into a bit of a nightmare for Ahuna.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Ahuna is defended easily by St Pierre.

St Pierre closes the distance and clinches up with Ahuna, looking for a takedown. St Pierre pushes Ahuna against the cage but Ahuna circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Ahuna misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.

St Pierre gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Ahuna to score an easy takedown into full guard.
Ahuna is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
St Pierre is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
St Pierre is breathing heavily.
Ahuna slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.
St Pierre is trying to improve his position.

Ahuna tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.
St Pierre gives up the full mount - oops, sloppy defensive grappling there!
Ahuna has hold of St Pierre's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and St Pierre manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.

St Pierre is working to get back to half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Ahuna forces the positional change into back control.
Ahuna is working for a rear naked choke. St Pierre is not defending it well and Ahuna has tightened it up quickly! This could be all over! St Pierre refuses to tap and goes to sleep, forcing the referee to intervene. A little trickle of blood came out of St Pierre's nose as his head slumped to the floor. That is naaaasty!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:59 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). John Ahuna!
Jonathan St Pierre was interviewed post fight and said 'That guy is no joke. He caught me, but I promise I will come back stronger and make my way to the title.'.
