PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Sheldon Cooper (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Vinnie Sinistra (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Cooper might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to star trek theme. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 11 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Sheldon Cooper!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 10 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Vinnie Sinistra!
The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, Timothy Bukovac and Don Winkell.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Cooper throws a series of punches but Sinistra moves out of range.
We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Sinistra has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.
Sinistra pushes forward with a 1-2 combination that forces Cooper back to the cage. Sinistra follows up with a solid lead hook to the liver.

It looks like Sheldon Cooper has been cut.
Sinistra is trying hard to land a takedown here. Cooper sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
Sinistra shoots for a takedown but Cooper saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Cooper ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Sinistra takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Sinistra shoots in looking for a takedown but Cooper manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Sinistra's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Sheldon Cooper has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Vinnie Sinistra.

Sinistra closes this distance looking for a takedown but Cooper circles away.

Cooper lands a big head kick that sends Sinistra tumbling to the mat! Cooper takes a step backwards and waves Sinistra back to his feet - he wants the finish!

Cooper misses with a series of wild punches.
Sinistra is still on wobbly legs! Can Cooper finish him?
Sinistra seems to be squinting his left eye. Perhaps he got a poke in that previous exchange. Cooper shows no mercy and swarms him with a barage of strikes! Sinistra is backing up but Cooper catches him with a final right hook that drops him! Sinistra covers up and the referee steps in to end the fight! Cooper Jumps to his feet and flashes his guns to the crowd. Oh yeah, baby! How'd you like them apples?!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:40 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Sheldon Cooper!
Sheldon Cooper decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
