PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Waldo Macdonald (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Gaberal Gustas (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Gustas comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Cant Hold Us kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Gustas scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
Macdonald trying to control but Gustas postures up.
Gustas passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Macdonald!
Macdonald wants to hold on but Gustas pushes him away.

Gustas stands up from mount. Strange move.
Macdonald shoots in looking for a takedown. Gustas tries to sprawl out of it but Macdonald keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Gustas manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Gustas dives in and grabs Macdonald's left leg, looking for a takedown. Macdonald pushes down on Gustas's head and hops out.
Gustas lands a leg kick and bounces back out of range.
Gustas blocks a head kick by Macdonald.

Macdonald tries a head kick but it misses.

Gustas manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Macdonald on his heels. He'll look to pass Macdonald's guard now, I'm sure.

Macdonald is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Gustas is aware though and is defending well.

Gustas stands up and waves to Macdonald to follow him.
Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Gustas, as that shot connected.
Gustas dives in for a single leg takedown but Macdonald sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.
Macdonald wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Gustas has him pressed against the cage.
Gustas tries for a takedown but Macdonald manages to get underhooks.
Waldo Macdonald has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Gaberal Gustas.

Gustas escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Macdonald gets in close and instigates a clinch.

Macdonald jumps guard but Gustas turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing.

Gustas changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Macdonald looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

Macdonald has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Gustas is working away from the top position though.
Macdonald moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.

Gaberal Gustas has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet.
Macdonald shoots and misses
and Gustas counters with a head kick that crumples his opponent - he's in a world of trouble! Gustas looks at the referee who does nothing so Gustas lands a crushing right that sends Macdonald to the floor! This time the ref steps in to end the fight.
