The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Santos stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Santos wants it to stay on the feet.
Ali Oatmeal seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Oatmeal misses with a jab, cross combination.
Santos chopping away at his opponent's legs.

Oatmeal looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into side control! Oh, that's bad for Santos!
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
Oatmeal tries to get to his feet but he's trapped momentarily.
You can see the frustration on Santos's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Santos is trying to get back to half guard.
Santos really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Oatmeal tries to bench press Santos off him but Santos keeps the position.

Oatmeal is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Santos is controlling him well.

Santos has knee on belly and now moves to full mount! Trouble for Oatmeal!

Oatmeal tries to improve his position but instead Santos has taken his back!

Santos is looking for a rear naked choke here but Oatmeal reverses the position brilliantly into Santos's guard!
Santos looking to sweep here. No luck so far.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Santos escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Oatmeal gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Oatmeal wants to stand but Santos is controlling his posture from full guard.

Santos is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Oatmeal working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
Oatmeal must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Oatmeal tries to stand but Santos is controlling from the bottom.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Santos has his feet on Oatmeal's hips. He pushes off and gets to his feet. Nice work.

Santos tries to improve position but can't.
Santos on the wrong end of some ground and pound.

Santos gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard.
Oatmeal throws a strike but Santos avoids it easily and moves to full guard.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Oatmeal wants to stand but Santos is controlling his posture from full guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Santos wants to sweep but no luck.
Santos controls Oatmeal momentarily but Oatmeal frees himself.
Oatmeal won't allow Santos to sweep him here.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Oatmeal stands and steps away. Santos gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.
Santos is breathing heavily.
A combination from Oatmeal does no damage.

A close round but Ali Oatmeal will probably get the nod.
That's time! Santos's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.

Santos rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Oatmeal moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Oatmeal takes a kick to the side of the head.

Oatmeal drives through with a takedown into Santos's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.

Oatmeal decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.

Oatmeal looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.

Santos is rocked!
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Santos wants to improve his position but Oatmeal is controlling well.
Oatmeal winds up and cracks Santos with a swinging punch to the side of the head.
Oh Santos is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
Oatmeal lands strikes from half guard.

Oatmeal seems to be working for a kimura but Santos defends the submission attempt.
Santos trying to hold on to Oatmeal's head to control him but Oatmeal postures up.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Oatmeal decides he's had enough of the ground and stands up.
Oatmeal throws a right hand that Santos ducks under and follows up with a left that Santos also avoids with ease.
Oatmeal cracks Santos with a nasty uppercut that draws ooohs from the crowd and sends Santos tumbling backwards onto the mat. He tries to recover but Oatmeal pounces and lands a hail of unanswered strikes that forces the referee to step in to end the fight! Santos is not happy but he gave the referee no choice!
