The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Payne shoots in but Lee avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Payne scores to the head and body with a nice combination!

and Lee counters with a single leg into guard. Payne didn't expect that.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.
Lee looking to control the position here, rather than advance.
Payne will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

and Lee counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Max Payne. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Lee is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
Payne working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Lee.
Lee is looking to work some ground and pound but Payne has wrist control.
Payne knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Lee on the ground.
Lee would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.
Lee pushes down on Payne's leg and manages to get into half guard.
It looks like Lee is going to stand back up.
Payne really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
