Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between George White (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jose De La Cruz (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). White has a slight injury, which hopefully won't affect the fight too much. Both fighters will be looking to make this an exciting fight for the fans, I'm sure!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, George White!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Jose De La Cruz!
The judges for this bout are Seu Braga, Leandro Rodrigues and Matheus Silva.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
De La Cruz throws a right high kick that is partially blocked by White.
White looks exhausted already! Oh dear, he should have come in in better shape than this!

De La Cruz is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in White's half guard.

De La Cruz thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
In the pre-fight buildup videos we saw De La Cruz working his ground and pound in the gym.
White is refusing to be controlled, as De La Cruz sits in half guard.
De La Cruz tries to stand and escape but White is controlling the position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
De La Cruz thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed White's head.
De La Cruz moves into full mount! White won't be happy about that!

That's one minute gone in the round.
White is bucking up trying to escape but De La Cruz cracks him with another couple of good strikes.
De La Cruz throws some wild stikes that White manages to avoid easily.
De La Cruz lands with some strikes.
De La Cruz breaks from White's wrist control and lands an elbow.
White is squirming around, avoiding De La Cruz's attempts to control the action.
White holding onto his opponent's waist for dear life, as De La Cruz tries to land some strikes to get him to release his grip.

White is working to get back to half guard.
De La Cruz trying to control but White is having none of it.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
De La Cruz is landing with some decent strikes but White is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.

White blocking the ground and pound.
De La Cruz throwing strikes here but White is writhing around nicely and avoiding any serious damage.
White is in a horrible position here, under a barrage of strikes, he's managing to avoid any damage.

De La Cruz throws an elbow from mount that misses. Lucky escape for White because De La Cruz loaded up on that one.

De La Cruz looking to control but White is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.
De La Cruz lands a big elbow.
De La Cruz looking to finish White with some ground and pound. This is bad for White!

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
De La Cruz tries to control but White wriggling away.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Jose De La Cruz dominated that round.
The cut man is working on George White's cut.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.



De La Cruz moves into range and clinches up with White.

De La Cruz jumps guard.
De La Cruz is trying to control the position from the bottom.
De La Cruz tries to strike from the bottom.

De La Cruz looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! White has picked De La Cruz up and slammed him! De La Cruz can't keep hold of the triangle and White manages to pass to side control!
De La Cruz struggling a bit here.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
De La Cruz is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard.

De La Cruz is trying to stand.
White content to sit in half guard and control for a moment.
De La Cruz looks like he's trying to stand up.
De La Cruz tries to strike from the bottom but it doesn't land.
White wants to take a breather but De La Cruz is having none of it.
De La Cruz wants to control but White is keeping busy.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
White wants to pass to mount but De La Cruz is defending the position.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
De La Cruz lands a front kick.
De La Cruz lands a head kick. White smiles back at him and beckons him forward.

De La Cruz feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

De La Cruz stands over his opponent and dives in with a flying punch! White throws up his legs and catches De La Cruz in a triangle! Oh this looks tight! De La Cruz tries to escape but he's forced to tap! Wow, fantastic work there by White! That came out of nowhere!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:53 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle Choke). George White!
