The judges for this bout are Eliza Hachem, Bruno Hogan and Donatello Bradman.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gerrard ducks under a wild hook from Silva.
Gerrard doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Silva counters with a two punch combo.
Silva throws a nice inside leg kick.
Silva scores with a straight right hand, right through his opponent's guard.
Silva avoids the body shot from Gerrard.
Silva scores with a leg kick.
Gerrard ducks under a wild hook from Silva.
Silva throws a feint and then finishes with a kick to the body.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Gerrard moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross.
Gerrard shoots in and drives through. Silva sprawls well.
Gerrard looks to score with a jab to the body but Silva is just out of range.
Silva lands the left hand.
A telegraphed right hand from Gerrard misses the target.
A slapping leg kick lands for Silva.
Gerrard shoots in but no luck this time.
Shogun Silva has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Stephen Gerrard.
Gerrard tries for a takedown but Silva circles away easily
and Silva counters with a nice uppercut.
Gerrard drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles.
Silva slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range.
Shogun Silva seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Gerrard fails with a takedown attempt.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Gerrard takes a nasty kick to the mid section... That should keep him thinking. Does he try and block and risk a head kick landing?
Gerrard looks winded!
Silva lands with a thumping leg kick.
Silva lands a right hook to the body.
Gerrard chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Silva can pounce on him.
Silva jabs at Gerrard's body.
Silva dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Silva scores with a jab. Gerrard acknowledges it with a nod of the head.
Silva lands with a right hand.
Ouch! a nice leg kick from Silva, right into the meat.
Silva fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Gerrard.
Silva lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise.
A jab lands there for Silva.
Gerrard is trying desperately to land a takedown but Silva is having absolutely none of it. This is turning into a bit of a nightmare for Gerrard.
Some wild striking there from Gerrard.
A jab from Silva finds it's way through Gerrard's defenses.
Silva is looking light on his feet compared to last time was saw him fight.
Gerrard with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Silva to score with a decent uppercut.
Gerrard misses with a two punch combination.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
Whack! Silva lands a heavy head kick that drops Gerrard. The ref tackles Silva to stop the fight - a great save by the referee because Gerrard was done.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:08 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Head Kick). Shogun Silva!
