Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Myles Sheppard (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Cobra Cobra (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd seem to be enjoying Cobra's choice of entrance music: Muharem_Serbezovski_-_Zasto_su_ti_kose_pobelele_druze__heminei_com_. This should be a great matchup!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Myles Sheppard!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Cobra Cobra!
The judges for this bout are Donatello Bradman, John Mangel and Skip Squint.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Cobra tries to score a power double leg takedown but Sheppard sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Cobra somewhat.

Cobra moves into the clinch.
Sheppard tries to break free but Cobra pushes him back against the cage.
Cobra tries to pull guard but Sheppard won't allow it.
Cobra fails to pull the fight into his guard.
Myles Sheppard has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Cobra Cobra.
Knees to the body from Cobra.
Sheppard working hard to break the clinch.
Cobra fails to pull the fight into his guard.
Sheppard is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.

Cobra jumps guard and drags Sheppard to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.
Sheppard postures up.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Sheppard stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Cobra swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Sheppard wants to stand but Cobra has a closed guard, so he can't escape.

Cobra has a butterfly guard looking to sweep but Sheppard has passed into side control.
Sheppard content to control the pace. The referee will try and keep them active though.

Cobra takes a nasty elbow to the side of the head.
Cobra is looking for a sweep.
You can see the frustration on Cobra's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Cobra is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but Sheppard has just dragged him back down to the mat.
Sheppard in side control, just content to control the action for now.

Cobra stops Sheppard from passing to mount.
Sheppard tries to stand but Cobra is controlling his head.
Cobra tries to buck Sheppard off but Sheppard is having none of it.

Sheppard tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Sheppard has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Sheppard connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused Cobra some visible discomfort.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Myles Sheppard dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.



Sheppard fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Cobra sprawls well initially but Sheppard persists and gets the takedown into half guard.

Sheppard is working for a kimura but Cobra is defending it quite comfortably.
Sheppard is trying to get back to his feet now but his leg is trapped.
Cobra won't allow Sheppard to pass to mount.
Sheppard not landing any meaningful shots this time.
Cobra looks like he's trying to stand up.
Cobra is trying to control but can't.

Cobra wants to get back to full guard.
Sheppard content to sit in half guard and control for a moment.
Sheppard working the head and body with strikes.
Myles Sheppard overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Sheppard is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Cobra!

Sheppard is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Cobra to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Cobra shrugs it off.

Sheppard working for a submission but Cobra is keeping him at bay.
Sheppard takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

Cobra is trying to reverse the position but instead Sheppard has taken his back - oops!
Cobra is breathing heavily.

Sheppard is punishing Cobra with some ground and pound.
Sheppard just keeping the dominant position. He can't wait too long though, otherwise the referee will stand them back up.

Cobra is very frustrated here, being controlled quite effectively by Sheppard.
Sheppard could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Sheppard has the hooks in. Cobra is trying to push off one leg but he has to do so cautiously to avoid being submitted.

Sheppard has his opponent's back and is working for the choke.
Cobra tries to break free.
A bit of a pause in the action here. Sheppard controlling the positon.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Cobra tries to escape but Sheppard has the hooks in and won't let him break free.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Myles Sheppard dominated that second round.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round!


Cobra with a lazy takedown attempt

and Sheppard counters by clinching up.
Cobra avoiding damage as Sheppard throws knees to the body.
Cobra stalling here - the referee won't stand for too much of that.

Sheppard breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

Sheppard shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.
Sheppard pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Cobra is keeping the position for now.
Sheppard stands and throws Cobra's legs to the side, diving into side control.
Sheppard wants to stand but Cobra has his arm trapped.

The referee asks Sheppard politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Sheppard prefers to stall for the moment though.
Sheppard has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.

Cobra is not content to let Sheppard control the position.

Sheppard wants to stand but Cobra has his arm trapped.

Cobra can't do much from the bottom here.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.

Sheppard swings around for an armbar but Cobra sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Sheppard's guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Cobra tries to stand but Sheppard is controlling from the bottom.
Cobra takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Sheppard is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.

Sheppard had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Cobra defends it easily.
Cobra won't allow Sheppard to sweep him here.
Sheppard striking off his back, scoring a few points.

Sheppard has Cobra pulled in close to control his posture.
Sheppard will have to put a bit more behind his punches if he's going to do any damage from this position.
Sheppard has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.
Cobra wants to control from the top but Sheppard keeps moving.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Sheppard lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Cobra!
Cobra Cobra has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Myles Sheppard is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
Cobra takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position.

And that's the end of the fight!
Myles Sheppard showed his dominance in that final round.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Sheppard, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
