Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Akira Fujita!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Big Miller!
The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, Timothy Bukovac and Frank Antenori.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A big right from Miller misses.
Sloppy strikes from Fujita. Those never looked like landing.
Fujita shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Miller counters with a nice uppercut.


It looks like Akira Fujita has been cut.
Miller slaps away a takedown attempt from Fujita, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Fujita goes for a double leg but Miller avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Miller continues to drive forward.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Akira Fujita. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Miller is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Fujita gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.

Fujita is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Miller can't fight it off and eventually Fujita manages to take the fight to the floor. Miller looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
Miller is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
Miller has his hands on Fujita's head, controlling the position.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Miller can do anything to dispel that myth.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Miller fails with a takedown attempt.

Miller gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.

Fujita postures up in Miller's guard and throws a big left but Miller blocks it.

Fujita misses with a head shot. Miller uses the momentum to regain guard.

Fujita drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Fujita jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Fujita prevents Miller from getting back to his feet.
Miller looking for a sweep. Not yet Miller, not yet.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Miller preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.
Fujita tries to free his leg and advance position but Miller is retaining full guard.
Fujita trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
Fujita pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Miller is keeping the position for now.
A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Miller holds on and takes a little breather.
Miller is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Fujita is controlling him.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Fujita will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.

Miller shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

Fujita has thrown up a leg looking for a triangle. Miller doesn't defend quickly enough and Fujita has managed to lock this one up! Can Miller escape?! NO! He's tapping out! Damn, that was a quick submission - congrats to Fujita on a fantastic submission victory.
