Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Dwight Butler (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Max Lee (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Lee has chosen game of death theme as his entrance music. Max Lee has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Dwight Butler!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Max Lee!
The judges for this bout are Albert Achterberg, Patrick Alders and Saam Ante.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lee gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily

and Butler counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Lee's guard now.
Butler wants to pass the guard but Lee is keeping the position.
Butler prevents Lee from getting back to his feet.
Lee trying to keep a closed guard but Butler is proving a slippery customer.
Butler throws a big right hand that misses.
Lee has a closed guard, preventing Butler from standing up.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

and Butler counters into the clinch. Nicely done.
A right hook to the body lands for Butler.

Butler manages to break the clinch.
Lee fails with an attempt to clinch.
Lee closes this distance looking for a takedown but Butler circles away.
Dwight Butler has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Max Lee.

and Butler counters with a nice double leg into side control. Lee won't be happy with that.

Butler is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Lee is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Butler takes a little break here. Lee wants to take advantage but he is being controlled well.
Lee should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.

A control attempt from Lee but he's now mounted!

Butler is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Lee to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Lee shrugs it off.

Butler has hold of Lee's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Lee manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.
Butler lands with some vicious ground and pound - can Lee hang on?
Butler tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
Butler pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage.

This has been an exciting period of action!
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Butler content just to control the position here.
Butler moves to the back.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Butler lands with a couple of good shots - one to the side of the head and one questionable shot that could be viewed as to the back of the head but the referee lets it go.
Butler just keeping the dominant position. He can't wait too long though, otherwise the referee will stand them back up.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Lee tries to sprawl but Butler drives through with a takedown into half guard.
Butler looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.
Butler wants to stand up but Lee is controlling the position.
Butler with a momentary lay and pray from half guard.

We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.

We're going to have a standup here because Dwight Butler wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.
Butler misses with a body kick.
Lee shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Butler as he avoids it easily.

Butler pushes Lee up against the cage in a clinch.

Butler escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Lee tries to keep at a distance but Butler has taken the fight into the clinch.
Lee wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.

Butler manages to pull guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Lee wants to control from the top but Butler keeps moving.
Lee postures up in Butler's guard and throws a big left but Butler blocks it.
Lee throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Butler works some decent striking defense from the bottom.

Butler might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

Butler throws a nice elbow from the bottom.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Butler is on top in guard.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Butler is looking to stand up but Lee won't let him.
Butler stops Lee from standing up.
Hammerfist, elbow! yells Butler's corner. There ya go! There ya go!
Lee is breathing heavily.
Butler with a flurry of punches that miss.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Butler accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Butler pushing down on Lee's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work.
Butler wants to stand up but Lee is controlling the position.
Butler is figuring out what he wants to do next.
Lee is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Lee keeping control of the position.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Lee shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Butler counters with a left and a right that stings Lee.
Lee tries to clinch but Butler moves out of range.

Butler has taken the fight to the clinch.
Butler keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Lee's efforts to push away.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Butler slows down the pace here.
Lee can't break the clinch.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Dwight Butler dominated that second round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Horrible takedown by Lee or perhaps it was just good defense by Butler which made him look bad.

Lee takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Butler would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Dwight Butler wasn't doing enough on the ground.
A looping hook to the body misses from Butler. Lee does a little dance to reset his feet.
Butler will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Lee looks to land a combination. Butler sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots.

Butler wants to work for an arm triangle but Lee is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.

Butler seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.

Well Butler has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
