Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Larry Moreno (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Sean Barrett (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The judges for this bout are Wesley Smith, Chris Downing and Robert Twigg.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
An inside leg kick from Barrett misses.
Barrett tries to close the distance and clinch but Moreno swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Moreno circles away from the clinch attempt.

Moreno closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Moreno is defending well against a takedown attempt.
Moreno is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Barrett is defending well for now.

Moreno decides to pull guard.

Moreno isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Barrett stacks Moreno on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Barrett!

Barrett tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Barrett has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
Moreno is trying to get back to half guard.

Moreno is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Barrett asserts his dominance and retains side control.

Barrett closes the distance and clinches up with Moreno, looking for a takedown. Barrett pushes Moreno against the cage but Moreno circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Barrett tries to close the distance and clinch but Moreno swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Barrett shoots in but no luck this time.

Barrett shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Moreno napping and manages to drive through into side control!
What's Moreno going to do here then? He's in a bit of a pickle.

Barrett wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Moreno, who protects the arm well.

Barrett tries to get to his feet but he's trapped momentarily.
A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Moreno is looking for a sweep.
Moreno keeps Barrett under control for a moment.
The strikes coming from Barrett are missing the target in this wave of attacks.

Barrett decides to take the fight back to the feet.

and Barrett counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Barrett drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Barrett jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Moreno is defended easily by Barrett.

Barrett sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Moreno's guard.
