Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Sean Sherk (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Amir Khan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Sean Sherk!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 4 - 0, fighting out of New York, Amir Khan!
The judges for this bout are David Schapiro, Jonathan Paton and Reed Andrews.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sherk fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Sherk fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Jab, jab by Khan - just one landing.
Khan scores with a big left there. The judges will like that one.
Sherk fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Sean Sherk. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Khan's corner calls for a 1, 2 combination and Khan duly obliges.
Sherk takes a kick to the side of the head.

Khan kicks off Sherk and gets to his feet.

Sherk closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Khan is looking to escape.
Khan is trying to maintain the position but Sherk is very close to passing his half guard.

Sherk is nestled in close to Khan, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.
The fighters are battling for position here. Khan manages to regain full guard. Nice work.

Sherk is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

Khan is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
Khan is using up a lot of energy trying to get back to his feet. Perhaps he should improve his position first.

Sherk makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.
Khan wants to stand and escape but Sherk is having none of it.
Khan keeping moving, preventing Sherk from controlling successfully.
Khan is looking to stand up but Sherk isn't so interested in that idea.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Khan has momentary wrist control but Sherk slips an elbow through the middle.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.


Sherk is trying hard to land a takedown here. Khan sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.

Sherk moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross.
Sherk darts in looking for a takedown but Khan gets double underhooks and turns Sherk into the cage.
Khan has used his reach advantage pretty well so far tonight.

Khan pushes Sherk back against the cage and unloads with a body punch.

Khan makes some space for himself and lands an uppercut.

Sherk wants to take the fight to the mat but Khan manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch.

Khan's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not.

Oh Sherk is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Khan creates a bit of space for himself and rocks Sherk with a big uppercut! Sherk tries to clinch up but Khan pushes him back against the cage and lands another monster strike that crumples Sherk to the mat! Sherk covers up and Khan unloads with more strikes until the referee steps in to end the bout!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:56 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Punches). Amir Khan!
A very excited looking Amir Khan made sure he remembered to thank all the fans both in the arena and on the internet. He said all the coolest people spend all day on MMA websites, which got a big reaction.
