The judges for this bout are Frank Dennis, Daniel Franklin and Stewart Dunkirk.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bowens tries to clinch but fails miserably
and Patrick counters by moving into the clinch.
Patrick is trying to force a seperation but Bowens has the dominant position.
Patrick has Bowens pressed against the cage, preventing Bowens from circling away and getting back to striking at range.
Patrick pulls guard successfully.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.
Bowens stands and throws Patrick's legs to the side, diving into side control.
Patrick knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Bowens on the ground.
Patrick tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Bowens is looking to take a break and control but Patrick is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Bowens wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Patrick, who protects the arm well.

and Patrick counters by moving into the clinch.
Patrick wants to break free but Bowens has control.
Bowens tries to pull guard but Patrick won't allow it.

Patrick throws a strike but Bowens rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Kneeeeees! The crowd are calling for knees to the body. Bowens obliges.

Patrick is trying to break the clinch but Bowens is controlling him.
Bowens jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Patrick walks away with a smile on his face. Bowens gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Patrick prevents Bowens from getting back to his feet.
Bowens is wriggling around but Patrick manages to pass to half guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Zachary Patrick will probably get the nod.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
