Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Arnoldo Shaw (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Georges StPierre (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Georges StPierre has the eye of the tiger tonight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

StPierre moves into the clinch.

Shaw misses with a double jab.

It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.
StPierre content to control the pace. The referee will try and keep them active though.
Shaw on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Shaw tries to get out of the position.
Shaw is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but StPierre has just dragged him back down to the mat.
You can see the frustration on Shaw's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
StPierre wants to stand but Shaw is controlling his arm.

StPierre remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.

StPierre has control of an arm but Shaw manages to advance to StPierre's back!

Shaw is looking for a choke. StPierre gets to his feet with his opponent on his back and slams him to the mat. StPierre manages to squirm out of the attempted choke and turns into his opponent's guard.

StPierre throws an elbow that misses. Shaw uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in StPierre's guard. Nice move by Shaw!
Shaw stops StPierre from standing up.

Shaw is pushing down on StPierre's leg trying to pass to half guard. StPierre is fighting to maintain full guard but Shaw has managed to sneak the leg through.

StPierre pulls Shaw in close to prevent any damage.

Shaw is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
StPierre sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Shaw's guard.

StPierre takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

StPierre in half guard on the top. He's looking for a kimura... He's got it locked and he's managed to free his trapped foot. Shaw tries to escape but it's on too tight and he has to tap! Great BJJ skills there from StPierre!
