Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Chet Lambert (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kyle Heath (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chet Lambert has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Chet Lambert!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Kyle Heath!
The judges for this bout are Don Winkell, Jack Bonds and Frank Antenori.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Heath tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Heath shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Lambert sprawls well. Lambert wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Heath gets slowly back to his feet.

Heath gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Lambert wants to get back to striking at distance but Heath won't allow it.

Heath breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Lambert fails with a takedown attempt.
Lambert looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Heath is fending him off so far but Lambert persists. Nope, Heath circles away and we're back to standing.
Lambert throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Heath.
A decent looking body kick lands there for Heath.
Lambert wants to clinch.

Lambert bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Heath parries the strikes from Lambert easily there. Lambert is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Heath to escape.
Lambert throws a knee to the body but it doesn't do much damage.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Lambert decides to take the fight back to the feet.
Lambert fails with an attempt to clinch.
Lambert moves in looking to clinch but Heath pushes him off.
Heath darts in looking for a takedown but Lambert gets double underhooks and turns Heath into the cage.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Lambert is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Heath pulls him back up using the underhooks.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Chet Lambert. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Heath jumps guard and drags Lambert to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.
Lambert trying to control but Heath is working from the bottom.
Lambert looking to control the position here, rather than advance.
Lambert sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Heath's guard.
Lambert has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Heath controlling the leg, holding on to half guard.
Heath wants to control but Lambert is keeping busy and won't allow it.
Heath is looking to improve his position.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.

Lambert tries to keep at a distance but Heath has taken the fight into the clinch.
A knee to the head by Heath.
Heath keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Lambert's efforts to push away.

Lambert wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Heath has him pressed against the cage.

Heath breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Lambert dives in for a single leg takedown but Heath sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.
Heath is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Lambert gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.

Lambert pulls Heath into guard.

Heath trying to control but Lambert is working from the bottom.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Heath loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
Lambert utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Chet Lambert will probably get the nod.

Lambert closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Heath wants to get back to his feet.
Lambert looking to pass the half guard. Not this time.
Heath gets full guard.
Heath is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Heath is looking for a triangle here but Lambert uses the submission attempt to pass into side control.

Lambert is trying to get an arm triangle but Heath is defending well.
Heath really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Lambert. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Lambert wants to stand but Heath has his arm trapped.
Heath is positioning himself to get back to half guard.

Lambert wants to control but Heath is keeping him busy.
Heath wants to control but Lambert postures up.
Heath is looking to reverse the position.
Lambert is staying tight to Heath's torso, preventing him from escaping.

We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.

The ref stands the fighters back up because Chet Lambert just wasn't active enough.
Lambert shoots in looking for a takedown but Heath manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Lambert's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

Lambert closes this distance looking for a takedown but Heath circles away.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Heath shoots in for a takedown but Lambert shows good takedown defense.
Heath plants his feet and lands a nice head kick!

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Lambert tries to get to his feet but he's trapped momentarily.
Chet Lambert overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Heath tries to buck Lambert off but Lambert is having none of it.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. This is the final round!


Heath pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Lambert wants to clinch up but Heath keeps it at a distance.
Lambert looks to clinch
and Heath counters with a good low kick that Lambert was not able to check.
Lambert closes the distance looking to clinch

and Heath counters by clinching up.
Heath has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Lambert avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.
Lambert jumps guard but Heath turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing.

Heath tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Lambert smiles and moves away.

Heath lands with a slapping head kick.
Horrible takedown by Lambert or perhaps it was just good defense by Heath which made him look bad.

Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Heath throws a head kick but Lambert moves out of range.
Nice takedown defense from Heath. No joy for Lambert on that attempt.
Lambert shoots in for a double leg but Heath sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.

Lambert shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.

Heath gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Heath cracks Lambert with a nice body shot.
Lambert is pressed up against the cage. Heath has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Lambert down to the mat. Lambert avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.

Lambert lands a nice trip takedown into half guard.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Lambert is looking to advance position but Heath won't allow it.

Lambert wants to stand but Heath has hold of a leg and an arm, so he's trapped for now.

Heath kicks Lambert off and gets back to his feet.
Lambert doesn't manage to clinch there - Heath circles away.
Lambert shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Heath as he avoids it easily.

Heath pushes Lambert up against the cage in a clinch.
Heath connects with a nasty looking knee right to Lambert's face.

Heath unloads a knee to the mid-section.
Heath scores with a knee to the head.
Heath has Lambert pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Lambert manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.
The two fighters are working to gain dominance in the clinch.
Heath scores with a shoulder strike.
Heath jumps guard but Lambert stands there with Heath around his waist. Heath gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Lambert throws an elbow but it's blocked.

Heath breaks the clinch.
Heath goes for a spinning back kick but it misses.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Heath shoots in and drives through. Lambert sprawls well.
Kyle Heath has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Chet Lambert is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.

Lambert shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Heath manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.

And that's the end of the fight!
Kyle Heath comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Lambert has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
