The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sutherland misses with a hook.
Chulainn lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Sutherland at a distance.
Sutherland doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.
Chulainn moves into range and connects with a jab.
It looks like Paul Sutherland has been cut.
Sutherland rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Chulainn moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
An inside leg kick from Sutherland misses.
Chulainn has been working on his striking defense in training and it's paying off as Sutherland is landing a low percentage of strikes.
Chulainn looks to land a combination but Sutherland avoids it well.
A telegraphed right hand from Chulainn misses the target.
Sutherland throws a leg kick but Chulainn checks it.
Chulainn uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Sutherland.
Ohhhhh! A huge head kick from Chulainn! Sutherland is out on his feet! Chulainn rushes in and throws more strikes. The ref is looking closely - Sutherland is covering up but the punishment is just too much and the ref steps in to stop the fight! Sutherland is staring into space, just thankful that the beatdown has ended. Brutal finish.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:42 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Cu Chulainn!
A pretty intense looking Cu Chulainn took the opportunity post-fight to ask for a shot at the title.
