Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Robinson Crusoe (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Cedric Caraan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Caraan is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: TubThumping(I get Knockdown). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Robinson Crusoe!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 12 - 13 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Cedric Caraan!
The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, Don Winkell and Frank Antenori.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
We've got one fighter who appears to only be looking to counter and the other not looking particularly aggressive either, so we could be in for a dull fight.

Crusoe gets a double leg takedown into Caraan's guard.

Caraan had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Crusoe defends it easily.

Crusoe stands and steps away. Caraan gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.

Crusoe has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Crusoe has scooted to the edge of the canvas and used the cage to get back to his feet. Caraan has stuck on his opponent and is forcing him back against the cage.

Crusoe closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Crusoe postures up and decides to stand up, from the half guard. The ref calls for Caraan to stand up.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. Let's get this one finished - here comes the final round!


Crusoe is looking to clinch but Caraan is avoiding it.
Crusoe throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

Crusoe is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Caraan can do to turn this around?

Caraan can't keep his opponent in guard - Crusoe advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.

Crusoe looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Crusoe wants to pass to mount but Caraan is defending the position.
Caraan wants to get back to full guard but Crusoe has mounted him!

Crusoe has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Caraan's face.

Crusoe has control of Caraan's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Caraan regains control of the situation pretty easily.

Crusoe is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Caraan to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Caraan shrugs it off.

Caraan is defending well here and trying to improve his position.

Caraan is displaying good submission defense - not really looking in danger of submitting to the rear naked choke at the moment. That could change in an instant of course if Crusoe gets his way!
Crusoe slows the pace down here. Having a little breather whilst he's in a dominant position, looking to rest and regain some energy, ready to go for the finish.

Crusoe seems to be working for a kimura but Caraan defends the submission attempt.
Crusoe is taking a breather. Caraan says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
Crusoe has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
Caraan is not content to let Crusoe control the position.
Cedric Caraan has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Crusoe seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.

Well Crusoe has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
