Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Cu IV (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mookie Magaba (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd seem to be enjoying Magaba's choice of entrance music: Three Days Grace - Animal I Have Become . Cu IV could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Mookie Magaba's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 4 - 0, fighting out of New York, Cu IV!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 12 - 7 - 0, fighting out of New York, Mookie Magaba!
The judges for this bout are Chad Campbell, Dean Styles and Reed Andrews.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Magaba moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from IV.
Magaba misses with a double jab.
IV wants to clinch.
IV fails in his attempt to clinch.
Good shot there by Magaba.
IV doesn't manage to clinch there - Magaba circles away.
IV shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Magaba but Magaba pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Magaba lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but IV circles away quickly and effectively.
Magaba swats away the attempt to clinch by IV.
We've been informed that Magaba has been sparring a lot of Muay Thai in the buildup to this fight so let's see if that has an impact on the result.
IV tries to close the distance and clinch but Magaba swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

IV pushes Magaba up against the cage in a clinch.

That's one minute gone in the round.
IV stalling in the clinch but Magaba improves position.
Magaba jumps guard but IV turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing.
Magaba on the defensive, avoiding the knees to the body.

Magaba decides to pull guard.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.
IV throwing strikes from guard but Magaba blocks nicely.
IV trying to control the position from guard on top but Magaba is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

IV stands up from guard. Let's bang!
Magaba throws a right and a left that IV avoids nicely.
IV defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Magaba.

IV rushes Magaba and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Magaba tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. IV smiles and moves away.
Cu IV has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Mookie Magaba.
Magaba keeps the fight on the outside.

No joy there for Magaba, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

IV has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

IV tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Magaba paws at him with a jab and circles away.

IV shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
We've been hearing that IV has been drilling a lot of ground and pound in training, so let's see if he get the finish.
Magaba slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work.
Magaba is trying to control the position from the bottom.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Magaba looking to hit a scissor sweep but IV is one step ahead there.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!
IV sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Magaba's guard.

IV throwing shots but Magaba is blocking nicely.
Magaba controlling the position for now.
IV is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position.

Magaba manages to get to full guard.
IV lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard.
IV is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.

Magaba has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but IV can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Magaba is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
IV lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
IV working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
Magaba is trying to keep IV in close.
IV is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound.

IV loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
Magaba wants to sweep here but IV controlling him for the moment.
IV makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Magaba is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
IV tries to get to full guard but Magaba has control of the leg.

Magaba is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Cu IV dominated that round.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!


Magaba looks for a takedown but IV sprawls well.
Magaba shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with IV but IV pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Magaba slaps away a takedown attempt from IV, before circling back to the center of the mat.
IV tries to close the distance and clinch up but Magaba swats him away and circles back towards the center.
IV wants to clinch.
Magaba misses with a wild combination.
Magaba throws a right hand that IV ducks under and follows up with a left that IV also avoids with ease.

That's one minute gone in the round.

IV feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
IV scores with a decent looking elbow strike.

Magaba lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for IV!
IV sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though.

Magaba is trying to work for a kimura but IV is defending well.
IV tries to get to full guard but Magaba has control of the leg.
IV holds on for dear life, maintaining half guard for now.
IV won't allow Magaba to pass to mount.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

IV wants to escape from the position here - easier said than done!
Magaba misses with the ground and pound.

Magaba has worked his way into a potential kimura here. IV is trying to get out of the position but his squirming has just got him deeper into trouble. Magaba yanks on the arm and IV is forced to tap due to a very painful looking submission! Nice work by Magaba.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:24 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Mookie Magaba!
