Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Eddie Fatu (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ricky Rickarderson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Fatu comes to the cage accompanied by Umaga. Both fighters will be looking to make this an exciting fight for the fans, I'm sure!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 11 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Eddie Fatu!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Ricky Rickarderson!
The judges for this bout are Micheangelo Fripello, Roger Salmon and Josh West.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Fatu misses with a jab, cross combination.

Fatu closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Rickarderson is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Fatu's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Fatu's back!
Rickarderson is punishing Fatu with strikes - can he finish him?!
Fatu looking to stop the rear naked choke attempt by controlling the hands.
Rickarderson controlling well, preventing Fatu from escaping the position.
Fatu is trying to get back to his feet but Rickarderson has full control of the position and if anything, Fatu has just worked his way into a worse spot.
Fatu turns into Rickarderson and is now in his guard.
Fatu with a flurry of punches that miss.
Fatu distracts Rickarderson with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Fatu wants to pass the guard but Rickarderson is keeping the position.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Rickarderson is on top in guard.
Fatu seems to have improved his submission grappling technique since last time we saw him. Let's see if he can pull off a submission.
Fatu is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Fatu wants to stand and escape but Rickarderson is having none of it.

Fatu escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Rickarderson gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Rickarderson wants to control from the top but Fatu keeps moving.
Fatu can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Rickarderson controls the pace.

Hammerfist, elbow! yells Rickarderson's corner. There ya go! There ya go!
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Rickarderson working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Rickarderson chips away with some ground and pound.
Rickarderson keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Fatu's head.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Rickarderson is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.

Rickarderson won't allow Fatu to sweep him here.

Rickarderson postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head.
Fatu keeping moving, preventing Rickarderson from controlling successfully.
Fatu is trying to keep Rickarderson in close.
Rickarderson trying to control the position from guard on top but Fatu is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Rickarderson lands a high kick to the side of Fatu's head that stuns him and send him tumbling down to the canvas! Rickarderson dives into guard, looking to finish.


It looks like Eddie Fatu has been cut.
Fatu has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Rickarderson got a little sloppy there for a moment and Fatu has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Rickarderson has managed to get both his arms back between Fatu's legs - danger averted.
Rickarderson must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Rickarderson passes Fatu's left leg - he's now in half guard.
Rickarderson is figuring out what he wants to do next.
Rickarderson looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Fatu with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

Rickarderson is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Fatu works his way to full guard. Good work.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Rickarderson postures up in Fatu's guard and throws a big left but Fatu blocks it.
Fatu not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Ricky Rickarderson dominated that round.
The cut man is working on Eddie Fatu's cut.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.


Fatu throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Fatu misses with a two punch combination.
Rickarderson gets caught by a brutal right hook which buckles his knees! Rickarderson tries to backpedal with his spaghettilegs but Fatu is headhunting and goes for the kill. A jab and a right hook connect and Rickarderson buckles badly as his eyes roll back. The referee steps in and saves Rickarderson!! Rickarderson is complaining but he was clearly out on his feet. Fatu throws his mouthpiece into the crowd. Mmmm spit-tastic.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:12 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Eddie Fatu!
