PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Eugene Canedo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Pablo Sir (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Canedo comes to the cage accompanied by NFG - Dressed to Kill (You). The crowd seem to be enjoying Sir's choice of entrance music: Kickstart. Both fighters will be looking to make this an exciting fight for the fans, I'm sure!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 12 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Eugene Canedo!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 14 - 14 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Pablo Sir!
The judges for this bout are Donatello Bradman, Eliza Hachem and Hugh Johnson.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Canedo lands a pitter patter jab to the forehead of his opponent.


It looks like Pablo Sir has been cut.
Canedo lands with an overhand left.
Sir tries a head kick but it misses.
Canedo tries to close the distance and clinch but Sir swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Sir pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Sir lands a glancing blow to the side of Canedo's head.


It looks like Eugene Canedo has been cut.
Canedo with a hook.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Canedo misses with a wild combination.
Sir lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Canedo at a distance.
Canedo turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick.
Canedo displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Sir.
Sir swinging wildly here.
Sir throws the left hand but Canedo avoids the punch easily.
Sir misses with a left hand
and Canedo counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.

Sir lands a jab to the nose.
Canedo misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Sir.
Sir misses with a right hand

and Canedo counters into the clinch. Nicely done.
Sir has a couple of punches blocked by Canedo.
Canedo throws an elbow that misses.
A short uppercut from Sir.
Canedo trying to land knees to the body.
Canedo throws a knee to the head but misses.
Sir lands with a short shot to the head.
Sir misses with a punch on the inside.
A quick uppercut on the inside from Sir.
Sir lands a body punch - he's looking to wear down Canedo.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Sir presses Canedo against the cage and delivers a mid-strength body shot.
A short right from Sir on the inside.
Sir blocks an elbow strike.
Sir lands a hook to the side of the head.
Sir jumps guard but Canedo turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing.
A right hook to the body lands for Canedo.
Sir is leaning against Canedo and scores with a nice uppercut to the body.
Canedo is breathing heavily.

Sir tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage.
With the two fighters working up against the cage, Canedo just misses with a elbow thrown towards Sir's brow.
Canedo looks to throw an elbow but misses.
Sir lands a nice shot to the body.
Sir jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Canedo walks away with a smile on his face. Sir gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Sir looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
Eugene Canedo has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Pablo Sir.
Sir connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son.
Sir bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut.
The fighters circling - Sir throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Canedo wants to clinch
and Sir counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.


Eugene Canedo's cut is getting worse.

Sir bobbing and weaving well here. And he's unloaded with a massive right hand that drops Canedo! He dives into his guard looking to finish!


Canedo is rocked!
Canedo will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Canedo working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Sir.
Sir in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
Sir with a flurry of punches that miss.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Sir landing some decent shots from guard.
Sir throwing strikes but missing.
Sir throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Sir trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
Sir throws a big elbow that misses.
Sir throwing strikes from guard but Canedo blocks nicely.
Canedo working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Sir.
Canedo knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Sir on the ground.
Canedo looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
Sir postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Sir is working Canedo over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.
Sir pushes down on Canedo's leg and manages to get into half guard.
Sir is nestled in close to Canedo, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Eugene Canedo's cut is bleeding quite badly. He's got to try and protect it.

The referee calls the doctor in to look at Eugene Canedo's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:52 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Cut). Pablo Sir!
A relieved looking Pablo Sir thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
