Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of London, Cristobal Howe!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Jordan Quinn!
The judges for this bout are Richard Clark, James Atkins and James Ackerman.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Quinn throws a leg kick but he was too far away and it doesn't land.
A looping hook to the body misses from Quinn. Howe does a little dance to reset his feet.
Howe tries to close the distance and clinch up but Quinn swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Howe misses with a series of wild punches.
Howe tries to clinch but Quinn is having none of it.
The fight stays on the outside here - Quinn looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Quinn closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Quinn wants to control for a moment but Howe uses the opportunity to move back to half guard.
Howe is trying to stand back up but Quinn is controlling him
Howe actively working from the bottom here.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Quinn in particular looking to stall.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Howe tries to kick Quinn off but Quinn keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.
Quinn perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.
Quinn scoring with strikes to the body and head.
Quinn thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
Howe is breathing heavily.
Quinn is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound.
Quinn prevents Howe from improving his position.
Quinn trying to control the action but Howe is working from the bottom.
Quinn sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Howe defending well though.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
Quinn thows a huge punch but Howe dodges it nicely.
Quinn seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Howe does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Quinn connects with a nice short shot to Howe's temple.
Howe is rocked!
The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Quinn lands a nice short elbow.
Oh Howe is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
Quinn lands a big elbow from half guard. That looks like it's hurt Howe quite badly. Howe pulls Quinn in close trying to recover. Quinn postures up and lands two really hard shots that put Howe on queer street! The ref takes a look and decides to call an end to the fight! Possibly an early stoppage but Howe doesn't seem to be complaining too much.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:39 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Jordan Quinn!
A relieved looking Jordan Quinn thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
