Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Chris Griffin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dawid Roznicz (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Roznicz has chosen Gangsta's Paradise as his entrance music. Dawid Roznicz has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Daniel Cesar, Leandro Rodrigues and Edson Gomes.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Griffin gets a double leg takedown into Roznicz's guard.

The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.

Roznicz working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Griffin doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Griffin manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Roznicz is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Griffin slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

We're going to have a standup here because Chris Griffin wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.

Oooh a lovely combination from Roznicz sends Griffin down but not out. Roznicz dives into side control looking to finish.


It looks like Chris Griffin has been cut.

Griffin is looking to reverse the position.

Roznicz goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Griffin rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Roznicz's guard! Nice work there by Griffin!

Griffin gets to his feet. Roznicz looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!

Griffin shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.

Roznicz is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

Griffin working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
Griffin has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Roznicz is proving hard to escape from.
Our spies down at at Soco na mãe - Stand Up Striking inform us that Roznicz has really been working on his submissions in the buildup to this fight. Will it pay off?

Roznicz has his foot on Griffin's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Griffin works his way back into a safe position though.
Griffin is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
Griffin seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Roznicz for as long as he can get away with.

The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Roznicz has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Griffin can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

Roznicz shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Griffin is trying to defend but Roznicz finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.

Roznicz drops back looking for a leg! Griffin is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Griffin manages to kick Roznicz off! Roznicz jumps back into Griffin's guard.

Roznicz swings around for an armbar but Griffin sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Roznicz's guard.

Roznicz looking to try and escape his hips here, looking for a submission. It looks like he's going for a triangle but Griffin is defending well. Roznicz quickly switches to an armbar and extends the arm! Griffin has no choice but to tap, to a very quick submission! Wow, that was lightning fast! Roznicz celebrates on the ropes, with the crowd.
