Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Chris Weidman (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Frank Morris (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Chris Weidman!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Frank Morris!
The judges for this bout are George Francis, Cecil Peabody and Daniel Franklin.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Morris throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Weidman swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Morris circles away from the clinch attempt

and Morris holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.
Weidman wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.
Weidman has had enough of the clinch but Morris keeps him there for the moment.
A nice left hand lands by Morris.

Weidman wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.

Morris breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Weidman enables Morris to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Weidman manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.

The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.
Morris wants to pass the guard but Weidman is keeping the position.

Weidman working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Morris doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Morris manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Weidman could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.

and Morris counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Morris is looking to advance position but Weidman won't allow it.
Weidman is looking for a sweep. Morris is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Morris takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.

Weidman sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Morris's guard.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Morris tries to roll over but Weidman keeps him under control.

Weidman is trying to work for a kimura but Morris is defending well.
Morris is trying to get back to full guard.

Morris pushes Weidman off but Weidman dives into side control.
You can see the frustration on Morris's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

Weidman goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Morris rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Weidman's guard! Nice work there by Morris!
Morris wants to control from the top but Weidman keeps moving.
Morris won't allow Weidman to sweep him here.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Morris slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close second round but Frank Morris will probably get the nod - 10:9.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!


Weidman throws a head kick that misses.
Morris uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Weidman.

and Morris makes him pay by landing a thudding low kick.

and Morris counters with a body kick that stops Weidman in his tracks momentarily.
A nice combination there by Morris.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Morris fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Weidman to the ground. Morris is now in Weidman's guard.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Morris is in close to Weidman's body, working some short punches and elbows.
Morris stands and throws Weidman's legs to the side, diving into side control.
You can see the frustration on Weidman's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Morris wants to lay and pray for a moment but Weidman keeps working.

Morris creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Weidman sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Frank Morris comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Morris has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
