Dim Lovein had a look across the cage there at his opponent. He definitely means business

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Lovein clinches with his opponent.
Lovein is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Laston pulls him back up using the underhooks.
Lovein is defending well against a takedown attempt.

Lovein lands a nice trip takedown into half guard.

Laston manages to create a bit of space in order to work his way back to his feet. Lovein keeps hold of his opponent and drives him back against the cage.
Laston is looking to take this one to the mat.
Laston tries for a takedown but Lovein manages to get underhooks.
Dim Lovein has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Josh Laston.
Lovein makes some space for himself and lands an uppercut.
Lovein lands a body punch - he's looking to wear down Laston.

Lovein really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Lovein wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Laston has him pressed against the cage.

Lovein has Laston pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Laston manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Laston's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Lovein shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Laston as he jumps to the side.
Lovein tries to clinch but Laston moves out of range.
Laston has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.

Lovein takes a big shot to the dome and his eyes have rolled back in his head! Laston's killer instinct has kicked in as he finishes the fight with more strikes. Impressive finish.
