Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Jin Mishima (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jimmy McKenzie (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Mishima comes into the arena with All I Do Is Win blaring out of the sound system. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

McKenzie has managed to clinch.
A short left from McKenzie.
McKenzie lands a nice uppercut.
McKenzie is trying to maintain a safe position but Mishima gets an underhook and turns McKenzie into the cage.
McKenzie misses with the head strike.
I was talking to Mishima's coach per-fight and he was telling me that they'd been working on the clinch in the runup to this fight.
McKenzie doesn't land with the attempted body shot.
McKenzie stays in close to his opponent and throws a right hand to the body.
Mishima jumps guard but McKenzie turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing.
McKenzie tries to throw a body punch but Mishima avoids it by throwing McKenzie back against the cage.
McKenzie misses with a hook from the clinch.

McKenzie lands a body punch - he's looking to wear down Mishima.
Mishima jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as McKenzie walks away with a smile on his face. Mishima gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Mishima swats away the attempt to clinch by McKenzie.
Mishima avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
McKenzie tries to clinch there but Mishima circles away.
McKenzie lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Mishima circles away quickly and effectively.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Mishima throws a front kick aimed at McKenzie's knee but McKenzie avoids it well.
McKenzie tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Mishima paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Jimmy McKenzie seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Mishima takes one to the side of the head.
McKenzie keeping at a good range here, avoiding a leg kick.
Jimmy McKenzie is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Mishima shoots in and drives through. McKenzie sprawls well.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jin Mishima. That's going to take a lot out of him.
McKenzie lands a jab to the head.
McKenzie uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Mishima.

Mishima tries to keep at a distance but McKenzie has taken the fight into the clinch.

Mishima manages to pull guard.
Mishima avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
McKenzie really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Mishima. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
McKenzie wanted to stand there but Mishima had control of the position.

Mishima is working actively from the bottom, looking for submissions. He's escaped his hips to the side and he's going for an armbar! McKenzie has his hands clasped together but Mishima extends and breaks McKenzie's desperate grasp, forcing a tap out due to armbar! Nice BJJ displayed there by Mishima.
