Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Falco Guik (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Vito Corleone (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The key to victory for Falco Guik has got to be keeping the fight on the feet.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
An inside leg kick from Guik misses.

and Corleone counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Guik's guard now.
Guik looking for a sweep. Not yet Guik, not yet.
Corleone passes Guik's right leg, so he's now in half guard.
The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Corleone lands a nice short elbow.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Guik tries to roll over but Corleone keeps him under control.
Corleone is taking a breather. Guik says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
Guik tries to kick Corleone off in order to stand up. Corleone Avoids the leg push though and dives into side control.

Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Corleone is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Guik is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
Corleone remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Guik wants to hold on but Corleone pushes him away.

Corleone is working to isolate an arm here. It's a telegraphed submission attempt but he's gone for it anyway - and he's got it! Corleone extends the arm and Guik is forced to tap!
