Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Edwin Langley (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Chris Mcduffie (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Fingers crossed for an exciting fight - I'm sure both fighters are looking for a nice under the table bonus!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Edwin Langley!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Chris Mcduffie!
The judges for this bout are Chris Downing, Tiny Johnson and Daniel Franklin.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Langley tries to clinch up but Mcduffie circles away and keeps his distance.

Langley drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.
Langley postures up in Mcduffie's guard and throws a big left but Mcduffie blocks it.

Mcduffie throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Langley escapes and throws Mcduffie's legs to the side, diving into side control!
Mcduffie is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Langley is controlling him well.

Langley looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.

Langley tries for a kimura but Mcduffie is defending well.
Mcduffie is looking to reverse the position.

Mcduffie is not content to let Langley control the position.
Langley controlling from side mount.
The ground and pound from Langley seems to be hitting the mat more than his opponent.
Mcduffie tries to buck Langley off but Langley is having none of it.
Mcduffie is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
Mcduffie gets back to half guard.
Langley could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.

Mcduffie tries to roll over but Langley keeps him under control.

Langley is thwarting Mcduffie's attempts to control the position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Mcduffie is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Mcduffie wants to get back to his feet.

Langley uses his free foot to push down on Mcduffie's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Mcduffie.
Langley prevents Mcduffie from getting the reversal.
Langley looking to ground and pound but Mcduffie is blocking nicely.
Mcduffie has given up his back.
Mcduffie is really stuck here.
Langley controls the position.
You can see the frustration on Mcduffie's face… He knows he is in trouble unless he improves his position sooner rather than later.
Langley has good solid back control here.

Mcduffie wants to control his opponent's hands but Langley gets his hands free.
Mcduffie covering up well under a barage of strikes.

Mcduffie is staying cool under pressure, defending well against the rear naked choke attempt from his opponent.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Mcduffie controlling the position well but he knows he's in a bad position.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Mcduffie looks to control his opponent's hands but he's not mananging it at the moment.

Nice defenses there by Mcduffie.
Langley tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Mcduffie manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.

Langley tries to break the clinch but Mcduffie is controlling the position.
Langley is trying to stall.
Mcduffie gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Langley.

Mcduffie ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Mcduffie no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.

Mcduffie working for submissions but it's allowed Langley to get to half guard.
Mcduffie has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Langley is working away from the top position though.

Mcduffie tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Langley wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.

Mcduffie wriggling around on the bottom manages to avoid the strikes thrown by Langley.

Mcduffie stops Langley from taking his back. Still, being mounted isn't any better.
Mcduffie is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
Langley wants to control but instead Mcduffie manages to regain half guard.
Langley is looking to take a break and control but Mcduffie is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Mcduffie wants to control but Langley is keeping busy.

Mcduffie is looking to improve his position.
Langley wants to stand up but Mcduffie is controlling the position.
Mcduffie wants to get back to his feet.
Langley is keen to just control but Mcduffie is a slippery customer.
Mcduffie tries to kick Langley off but Langley keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close second round but I would say that Edwin Langley will probably get the nod.

Mcduffie shoots in but doesn't get the takedown

and Langley counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Langley.
Langley tries to free his leg and advance position but Mcduffie is retaining full guard.
Mcduffie keeping moving, preventing Langley from controlling successfully.
Mcduffie utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Mcduffie throwing strikes off his back to little effect.
Langley wants to stand but Mcduffie is controlling his posture from full guard.

Mcduffie has his feet on Langley's hips. He pushes off and gets to his feet. Nice work.
Mcduffie tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Langley defends well and Mcduffie ends up having to push Langley into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.

Mcduffie takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Langley drops down looking for an ankle pick but Mcduffie pulls his leg out and moves away.
Langley pulls out of a head kick attempt.

Mcduffie scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Langley doesn't seem bothered though.
Mcduffie misses with a head kick.
Nice sprawl there from Langley as Mcduffie shoots in.
Edwin Langley has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Chris Mcduffie.
Mcduffie shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Langley as he avoids it easily.
Langley tries to bum rush Mcduffie with a series of wild strikes but Mcduffie uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Mcduffie throws a head kick that misses.
Mcduffie rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Langley moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

Langley gets a double leg takedown into Mcduffie's guard.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Mcduffie working a defensive guard but Langley manages to pass into side control anyway.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Langley advances to full mount.
Mcduffie tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Edwin Langley overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Langley lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.
Langley controlling the pace for now.
Mcduffie in a bad spot here, taking shots to the head.

Langley trying to control but Mcduffie is having none of it.
Langley has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Mcduffie's face.
Langley looking to control but Mcduffie is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.
Langley tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
Mcduffie gets back to half guard.
Chris Mcduffie has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Edwin Langley is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Mcduffie is kicking away at Langley from the bottom - trying to push off and stand up. Langley grabs hold of a leg and drops back for a heel hook! The two fighters roll across the mat, with Mcduffie trying to push Langley off... Mcduffie taps! He's tapped! This one is all over! A throwback to the old Pancrase there with an infrequently seen submission hold! Nice work.
