Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Dr Gonzo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Takeshi Miike (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Takeshi Miike struggled to make weight for this fight. He only made it down to 136.3lbs at the first attempt and had to take the additional two hours to make the official bout weight. Let's see how much it's taken out of him. I don't know about you partner, but I'm pumped for this one!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A cross from Gonzo lands.
Miike swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Miike throws a nice looking combination but Gonzo bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
A chopping leg kick lands by Gonzo.
Miike bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Gonzo's head.

Gonzo has managed to clinch.
Miike is trying to push Gonzo away but Gonzo has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere.

Takeshi Miike seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Miike sees a low kick coming and goes to check it, but it's actually a body kick and it thuds into his unprotected ribs.

Gonzo dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Miike. That did some damage!

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Dr Gonzo.
Gonzo displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Miike throws out the jab.

Gonzo lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.

Gonzo throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd.
Miike looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple.

A nice leg kick lands there from Gonzo.
Miike takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Miike decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
It looks like Miike is going to stand back up.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Miike is taking a breather. Gonzo says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.

Miike is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Gonzo is just riding it out for now. Miike eventually gives up the hold.

Miike is stalling here. Gonzo is in no mood to hang around though. He's locked up a kimura from the bottom! Miike seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and Gonzo has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work.

Gonzo is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Miike is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet.

Miike stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Gonzo.
Gonzo fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Miike has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.

Miike takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Miike swings and misses with a hook to the body.
That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Miike crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Gonzo - the referee stops the clock and Miike gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Gonzo. Miike manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes.
Gonzo ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.
Gonzo cracks Miike with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.
Miike has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Miike there as he acknowledges the shot.
Gonzo swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Miike.

Gonzo drops Miike with a straight left! Oh this is bad for Miike! Gonzo dives in and starts dropping bombs - the referee has no choice but to step in and save him!
