Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Christopher Sexton (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Abraxas Blue (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Abraxas Blue will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Christopher Sexton!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Abraxas Blue!
The judges for this bout are Illya Tyunina, Sergei Dronov and Fedor Mirinova.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sexton shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Blue as he jumps to the side.
Sexton misses with a takedown
and Blue counters with a straight right hand.


Christopher Sexton's cut is getting worse.
Sexton changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Blue tries to avoid it but Sexton manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Blue to the ground. Blue escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Christopher Sexton. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Blue shoots in but no luck this time.
Blue tries for a takedown but Sexton sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.

Sexton gets tackled into the cage by Blue. Blue maintains the clinch.
Sexton tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Sexton could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.

Blue has Sexton pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Blue pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Sexton tumbling to the mat - Blue dives into Sexton's guard.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.
Blue controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
Blue wants to control from the top but Sexton keeps moving.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Sexton pulls Blue in to control the position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Blue looking to pass the guard.

Sexton looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Sexton is breathing heavily.
Blue trying to control the position from guard on top but Sexton is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Abraxas Blue.

Blue gets tackled into the cage by Sexton. Sexton maintains the clinch.

Blue breaks from the clinch.
Blue swings for the body but Sexton moves out of range.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Sexton rushes Blue and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Blue fails to pull the fight into his guard.
Blue is trying to pull guard but Sexton has him pressed against the cage.

Blue gets the body lock takedown. After a quick scramble, Sexton regains guard.
Blue is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
Sexton might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Blue trying to control but Sexton is working from the bottom.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.
Blue tries to free his leg and advance position but Sexton is retaining full guard.

The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Abraxas Blue.
Sexton misses with a takedown attempt
and Blue counters with a lovely shot to the body.

Sexton moves into range and clinches up with Blue.
Stalling in the clinch from Blue.
Blue is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Sexton gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.
Sexton wants to break the clinch but can't.
Sexton tries to pull guard but Blue won't allow it.
Sexton tries to land a shot to the body but it's blocked.
Blue tries for a takedown. No joy.
Blue trying to land knees to the body.
Sexton drops down looking for an ankle pick but Blue pulls his leg out and moves away.
Blue wants to clinch.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Blue lands a head kick!

Sexton pushes Blue up against the cage in a clinch.
Blue drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.

Blue manages to break the clinch.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Sexton misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Abraxas Blue dominated that round.
The cut man is working on Christopher Sexton's cut.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.


Blue is looking to clinch but Sexton is avoiding it.

Blue pushes Sexton up against the cage in a clinch.
Sexton tries to break free but Blue pushes him back against the cage.
Blue tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Blue is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Sexton to keep the fight standing.
Blue fails to pull guard.
Christopher Sexton has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Abraxas Blue.
Blue throws a punch but it's blocked by Sexton.
Blue avoids the elbow strike from Sexton, against the cage.

Blue breaks the clinch.
Sexton misses with a takedown attempt
and Blue counters with a kick to the head that grazes his opponent. Sexton is lucky that one didn't land flush.
Blue chopping away at his opponent's legs.
Blue slaps away a takedown attempt from Sexton, before circling back to the center of the mat.

Blue decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Sexton wants to get back to his feet.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Blue is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Sexton is just riding it out for now. Blue eventually gives up the hold.
Blue wants to control but Sexton is keeping him busy.
Blue is just content to waste time from the top position. Sexton takes advantage of the situation and regains full guard.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Blue pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Sexton is keeping the position for now.
Sexton is pulling down on Blue's head. It's preventing any offense from Blue, at least for the moment.
Sexton wants to stand but Blue is controlling the position.
Hammerfist, elbow! yells Blue's corner. There ya go! There ya go!
Blue content to stall in guard here.
Blue wants to control from the top but Sexton keeps moving.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Sexton keeping full guard, as Blue tries to pass.
Blue looking to sit in guard and control but Sexton gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
Blue is wriggling around but Sexton manages to pass to half guard.
Sexton passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Blue!
Blue really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Sexton. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Sexton throws an elbow from mount that misses. Lucky escape for Blue because Sexton loaded up on that one.
Blue is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
Blue holding onto his opponent's waist for dear life, as Sexton tries to land some strikes to get him to release his grip.
Blue bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done!
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Blue wants to control from the top but Sexton keeps moving.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Abraxas Blue showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Blue blocks a head kick by Sexton.
A lazy body kick from Sexton
and Blue counters with a flying knee. Nice.
Christopher Sexton seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

The fight moves into the clinch position.
Sexton is trying to push Blue away but Blue has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere.

Blue's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

Sexton closes the distance and pushes Blue back into the cage.

Sexton is fighting off a takedown attempt but Blue is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Sexton to the mat. Sexton regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Blue controls the pace of the fight for a moment.

Blue has gone for a leg lock! Sexton slips out almost immediately though and dives into Blue's guard.
Blue wants to control the position but Sexton says "no thanks buddy" and passes to half guard.
Blue is looking to control Sexton's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Blue avoid being mounted?
Sexton wants to free his trapped foot but Blue is holding on for dear life with his legs.
Sexton is looking to take a break and control but Blue is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Blue tries to kick Sexton off but Sexton keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.

Blue has managed to escape just enough to sneak back to his feet but Sexton is on him like a limpet, forcing Blue back against the cage.

Blue lands a nice trip takedown into half guard.

Blue thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.

Sexton wants to control but Blue is keeping busy.
Sexton manages to get to full guard.
Blue with a flurry of punches that miss.
The step up in weight doesn't seem to be a problem for Blue. He's performing admirably here against the bigger man.

Sexton wants to get back to his feet but he's too absorbed in his own little project and Blue manages to pass to side control.
Sexton keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.
Blue is looking to take a break and control but Sexton is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Blue seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Sexton does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Christopher Sexton has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Abraxas Blue is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.
Sexton tries to strike from the bottom but it doesn't land.

Abraxas Blue comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Blue has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
