Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Blas Kavcic (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Chuck Shamrock (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Shamrock comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Courtesy of the Red, White, and Blue kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Blas Kavcic has a significant reach advantage - let's see if he can make it count.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

9 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Chuck Shamrock!
The judges for this bout are Roger Salmon, Jeff Smith and Josh West.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Shamrock with a jab.
Shamrock tries to close the distance and clinch up but Kavcic swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Kavcic shoots in but Shamrock avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Sloppy strikes from Shamrock. Those never looked like landing.
A shot to the body from Shamrock misses
and Kavcic counters with a nice double leg into side control. Shamrock won't be happy with that.
Kavcic trying to control the action but Shamrock is working from the bottom.
Kavcic works to advance to full mount. Shamrock defends for a few seconds but eventually he succumbs.
Poor strikes thrown by Kavcic there. More accuracy and less frantic strikes would help!
Kavcic will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Kavcic working to secure an arm triangle but it's not happening for him just yet.

The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.
Kavcic definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.
Kavcic throws some wild stikes that Shamrock manages to avoid easily.
Kavcic jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Shamrock manages to avoid the submission attempt.
Kavcic wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Shamrock, who protects the arm well.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
Shamrock is trying to control Kavcic's posture but Kavcic avoids it.
Shamrock told us pre-fight that he has been working on his escapes in training. Let's see if he can call on some of his new skills to get back to his feet.

Kavcic misses with an attempted head punch from side control.
Kavcic has hold of Shamrock's arm here. He's working for an Americana. It looks like he might have it! Shamrock tries to escape but he's just digging himself in deeper - Kavcic cranks the arm and Shamrock screams in pain! The ref makes a decision and ends the fight before the tap - no complains from Shamrock, who is just happy to have his arm attached to his body.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:40 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Americana). Blas Kavcic!
