Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Rane Kingi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Freddy Lee (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Lee has chosen Stroke It as his entrance music. Both these guys have solid standup skills and neither is particularly fantastic on the ground, so let's hope for a nice standup war!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Rane Kingi!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 13 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Freddy Lee!
The judges for this bout are Paul Gruel, Ryoma Takatsuka and Roger Salmon.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kingi fakes with the hands and throws a leg kick but Lee is out of range.
Lee keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Kingi.
Lee lands with a thumping leg kick.
Rane Kingi seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Kingi tries to land a front kick but Lee steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.
Kingi is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Lee.
That kick from Kingi tenderised Lee's leg. Lee is trying to keep his angry face on.
Kingi checks the leg kick.
A solid leg kick lands there for Kingi.
Kingi lands with a kick to the ribs.
Lee looking to throw a kick but he's pulled out of it.
Lee tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Kingi was well out of range. Poor timing from Lee.
Lee does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.
Lee throws a wild body kick that Kingi sees coming a mile off.

and Lee counters with a body kick that brings a smile to the face of both fighters.
Lee throws a push kick but Kingi slaps the foot to one side.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Kingi fakes a jab and scores with a low kick.
Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Lee.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Kingi lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.
Lee throws a body kick but he was well out of range there.
We've been told by Kingi's head coaches at The Meat Market that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.

Lee cracks Kingi with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd.

Lee throws a shot from downtown. Kingi moves away and avoids it.
Lee swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Lee throws a body kick that misses.
Lee throws a feint and then finishes with a kick to the body.

Lee blocks a low kick nicely.
Lee blocks a jab.
Lee throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
A jab from Kingi finds it's way through Lee's defenses.
Kingi fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Lee has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.
Kingi misses with a telegraphed body shot
and Lee counters with a nice leg kick.
Kingi lands a nice looking body shot.
Lee throws a low kick, looking for Kingi's leg but Kingi calmly moves out of range.
Kingi fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Lee on the side of the head.
Lee throws a head kick that looked like it stung.
Lee throws a body punch but Kingi moves out of range.
Kingi swings away with a leg kick that misses.
Lee scores with a head kick. Kingi tried to block it but didn't get his arm up in time.
Kingi connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Lee's hands.

Kingi drives through and clinches with Lee against the ropes.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Kingi tries to throw a body punch but Lee avoids it by throwing Kingi back against the ropes.
Lee blocks an uppercut.
Lee blocks an uppercut.
Kingi swings wildly with an uppercut but Lee uses good head movement to avoid it.
Kingi misses with the head strike.
Kingi fails to land with a short punch on the inside.
Kingi scores with a shot to the side of Lee's head.

Kingi softening up his opponent with strikes, against the ropes.
Kingi prevents Lee from breaking the clinch.

Kingi stalling the fight.
Kingi pushes Lee back against the ropes and lands a hook to the side of the head.
Lee swings away with an uppercut that misses.
Lee wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.
Kingi misses with the head strike.
Kingi misses with a hook to the ribs.
Kingi lands a shoulder strike.
Kingi tries to land a shot to the body but it's blocked.
Lee blocks a punch to the side of the head.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Kingi working aggressively here.
Kingi lands a right uppercut that snaps the head of Lee backwards.
Kingi keeps control of Lee as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Rane Kingi dominated that round.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.


Kingi misses with an uppercut.
We are yet to see a takedown attempt from Lee in the fight. On paper you would think he is the more dominant ground fighter so let's see if these unusual tactics pay off.
Kingi scores with a leg kick.
Kingi thuds his right hand into Lee's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.
Kingi misses with a body kick.
Lee showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Kingi.
Lee avoids a kick to the body.
A slapping body kick lands there for Kingi.
A nice leg kick lands there from Lee.
Kingi misses the shot to the body.
Lee stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Kingi.
Lee lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Kingi circles away quickly and effectively.

Kingi pushes Lee up against the ropes in a clinch.

Kingi pushes Lee back against the ropes and lands a hook to the side of the head.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Kingi pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

Lee lands a big head kick that sends Kingi tumbling to the mat! Lee takes a step backwards and waves Kingi back to his feet - he wants the finish!


Kingi is rocked!


It looks like Rane Kingi has been cut.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Lee throws a push kick but Kingi slaps the foot to one side.
Oh Kingi is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Lee staying out of range there.
Lee dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Kingi. That did some damage!
Kingi connects with a crisp jab.
Kingi throws a sloppy body shot
and Lee counters with a leg kick.
Lee scores with a kick to the midsection.

BOOM! Lee lands a beautiful left hook that drops Kingi. Kingi tries to recover but Lee is having none of it, landing more punishing shots from mount. One final crushing shot and Kingi lies motionless on the canvas. The fight is over!
