The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
DellaBuona tries for a takedown but McDonald sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
McDonald stuffs the takedown.
DellaBuona takes a body punch but keeps moving.
DellaBuona wants to clinch up but McDonald keeps it at a distance.
McDonald fakes high and swings low for a body shot but DellaBuona manages to avoid it.
Donny DellaBuona seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
DellaBuona misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.

McDonald gets in close and instigates a clinch.

McDonald turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and McDonald manages to end up in side control.
DellaBuona parries the strikes from McDonald easily there. McDonald is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable DellaBuona to escape.

McDonald is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but DellaBuona is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

McDonald stands up.
DellaBuona keeps the fight on the outside.
McDonald looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? DellaBuona is fending him off so far but McDonald persists. Nope, DellaBuona circles away and we're back to standing.

and McDonald counters by moving into the clinch.
DellaBuona tries to score a body lock takedown but McDonald shows good agility there to stay on his feet.
DellaBuona using the Thai plumb to throw knees but McDonald has his back arched nicely, preventing the strike.
McDonald lands an elbow inside that DellaBuona shrugs off.
