Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Erik Andersen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Osamu Suzuki (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Erik Andersen has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Erik Andersen!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Osamu Suzuki!
The judges for this bout are Alan Glass, Chris Downing and Cecil Peabody.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Andersen fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done.
Suzuki shoots for a takedown but Andersen saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.

Suzuki gets caught flat footed, as Andersen shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
Andersen tries to free his leg and advance position but Suzuki is retaining full guard.

Andersen stands up from Suzuki's guard - Andersen perhaps looking for a knockout.

Andersen drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
Suzuki is looking to stand up but Andersen isn't so interested in that idea.
Suzuki throws some sloppy strikes off his back.

Suzuki is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Andersen accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Andersen makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.
Suzuki is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Suzuki can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Andersen controls the pace.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Andersen tries to free his leg and advance position but Suzuki is retaining full guard.
Suzuki wants to sweep but no luck.
Suzuki is looking to sweep but instead, Andersen has passed into half guard.
Andersen is controlling the pace.
Andersen passes the guard and advances to mount!

Suzuki wants to improve position but instead he's given up his back.
Andersen controlling well, preventing Suzuki from escaping the position.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Andersen controlling the position well here. Suzuki rolled but Andersen kept the hooks locked in and stayed in the dominant position.
Andersen lands shots from the back.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.



Andersen shoots in and bounces Suzuki off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
Suzuki keeping moving, preventing Andersen from controlling successfully.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Suzuki is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Andersen is controlling him.

Andersen passes into half guard.

Andersen wants to work for an arm triangle but Suzuki is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Andersen is figuring out what he wants to do next.

Suzuki actively working from the bottom here.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Andersen is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Suzuki defends it well.
Suzuki trying to control but Andersen postures up.
Suzuki wants to get back to his feet.

Suzuki wants to get back to full guard but Andersen has mounted him!
Suzuki keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.

Andersen is looking to secure an arm. He's managed it! He's pivoting for an armbar - that looks tight! But Suzuki has managed to get out of it and now he's in a dominant position. Nice work from Suzuki!
Andersen seems keen to control Suzuki's posture.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Andersen can't keep his opponent in guard - Suzuki advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.
Andersen works his way to full guard. Good work.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Suzuki drops back, looking for a kneebar! Andersen looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Andersen looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Andersen!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. Let's hear some noise people - this is the final round!



Andersen closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Suzuki tries to get to full guard but Andersen has control of the leg.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Andersen is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Suzuki is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
Suzuki tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Andersen wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.

Erik Andersen overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Andersen throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Suzuki tries for a takedown but Andersen circles away easily

and Andersen counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Suzuki's guard now.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Suzuki bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Andersen's guard.
Andersen working a defensive guard but Suzuki manages to pass into side control anyway.
Suzuki works to advance to full mount. Andersen defends for a few seconds but eventually he succumbs.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Suzuki goes for an armbar but he's not got it… Andersen turns into him and now he's in Suzuki's guard.
Suzuki tries to land a sweep but no joy.

And that's the end of the fight!
Erik Andersen showed his dominance in that final round.
Well Andersen has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
