Rudy comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Kick In The Door kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Man, I cannot wait for this one!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Phaneuf throws a nice looking combination but Rudy bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Dion Phaneuf seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Phaneuf takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.

It looks like Dion Phaneuf has been cut.

Rudy cracks Phaneuf with a big right hand that sends him crashing to the floor. Rudy has the opportunity to follow him to the ground but instead he's beckoning Phaneuf to stand back up!
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Phaneuf throws a right and a left that both miss.
Rudy throws a jab when Phaneuf was well out of range.
Phaneuf misses with the combination.
Rudy weaves into range and cracks Phaneuf right on the temple with a beautiful overhand right! Phaneuf goes down! He's out cold! Wow, what a beautiful knockout! Rudy is strutting round the canvas like a movie star as the camera bulbs flash frantically.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:18 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Donovan Rudy!
Donovan Rudy bigged himself up after the win. The crowd seemed to love it.
