Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Samuel Santos!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, David Davidson!
The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, and Timothy Bukovac.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Davidson shoots in looking for a takedown. Santos tries to sprawl out of it but Davidson keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Santos manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Santos misses with a body kick.

Davidson closes the distance and clinches.
Davidson tries to pull guard but Santos holds him up against the cage and eventually Davidson drops back down to his feet.
Santos wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Davidson has him pressed against the cage.
Santos is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Davidson to keep the fight standing.
Santos slows down the pace here.

Davidson drags the fight down to the ground.
Santos might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Santos not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.

Davidson is looking for a triangle here but Santos uses the submission attempt to pass into side control.

Santos stands up and beckons Davidson to his feet.
Davidson shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Santos defends it nicely.

Davidson really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Santos. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Davidson is trying to stand but he's just given Santos his back.
Davidson is trying to get back to his feet but Santos has full control of the position and if anything, Davidson has just worked his way into a worse spot.

Santos has the hooks sunk in and you can see the will to fight slowly draining out of Davidson's body.

Santos has his hand under the chin of his opponent looking for the choke. He's nearly got it! This one could be all over! But no, Davidson has freed his hand and lives to survive another… well, another couple of seconds at least!

That was a close round but I would say that Samuel Santos will probably get the nod.
That's time! Santos's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.


Santos throws a lazy right hand but Davidson sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Davidson is defended easily by Santos.

Santos could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.

Santos displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Davidson.

Santos throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Davidson's waist but Davidson gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Santos off to one side.

and Davidson counters with a straight punch to the midsection.
Davidson shoots in for a takedown but Santos shows good takedown defense.
Samuel Santos is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Santos swats away the attempt to clinch by Davidson.
Santos shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Davidson pinned against the cage. Davidson gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

Davidson shoots in for a double leg but Santos sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Davidson is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Santos tries to close the distance and clinch but Davidson swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

Davidson lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Santos backs up against the cage.


It looks like Samuel Santos has been cut.
Santos checks the leg kick nicely there.
Davidson changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Santos tries to avoid it but Davidson manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Santos to the ground. Santos escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Santos gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Davidson.
Davidson drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Santos gets the underhooks and prevents it.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

David Davidson showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! Let's get this one finished - here comes the final round!


Davidson goes for a double leg but Santos avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Santos continues to drive forward.

Davidson gets control of Santos's arms and successfully pulls guard. Davidson will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.

Davidson is looking for a sweep. Santos is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
