Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Jake Silva!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Erki Turk!
The judges for this bout are Matti Vanhoillinen, Marco Blurström and Johanna Lukiainen.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Silva feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Turk's calf.

Silva gets a takedown into half guard.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.

Silva seems to be working for a kimura but Turk defends the submission attempt.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Silva is controlling the pace.
Silva seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Turk for as long as he can get away with.
Silva is keen to just control but Turk is a slippery customer.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Turk looking for submissions from an awkward position here.
Silva moves nicely into side control.

Silva is looking to take a break and control but Turk is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Silva looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.
Silva is staying tight to Turk's torso, preventing him from escaping.
Turk takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better.
Turk is looking to regain half guard here but Silva keeps moving and retains side control.
Turk is working to avoid the ground and pound but Silva connects with a decent elbow.
Turk takes a big shot right to the temple there but he's taken it well.
Turk is trying to get back to half guard.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Turk stops Silva from passing to mount.
Turk is looking to regain half guard here but Silva keeps moving and retains side control.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Turk is still trying to improve position.
Turk is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.

Silva has an Americana. Turk didn't react quickly enough there and he's in big trouble now! He tries to squirm out but is forced to tap! Silva is delighted and gyrates in front of the ring girls. They seem to like the attention - it'll be interesting to see if Silva hooks up with any of them at the after show party.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:56 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Americana). Jake Silva!
Jake Silva decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
