Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Roger Howlingate!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, James White!
The judges for this bout are Alexandre Firmino, Daniel Cesar and Leandro Rodrigues.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Howlingate drives through with a takedown into White's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.
White trying to control the position.
Howlingate throwing strikes but missing.

White looking for a guillotine here but Howlingate defends easily.
Hammerfist, elbow! yells Howlingate's corner. There ya go! There ya go!
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Howlingate trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
White avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Howlingate accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

White has his foot on Howlingate's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Howlingate works his way back into a safe position though.
Howlingate with a flurry of punches that miss.

Howlingate got a little sloppy there for a moment and White has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Howlingate has managed to get both his arms back between White's legs - danger averted.

White had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Howlingate defends it easily.
Howlingate throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as White works some decent striking defense from the bottom.

White is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Howlingate is aware though and is defending well.
Howlingate landing some decent shots from guard.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Howlingate with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal.
White working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Howlingate.

White is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Howlingate defends well.
Howlingate is looking to work some ground and pound but White has wrist control.
Howlingate has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
Howlingate stands up over White, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.

White working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Howlingate doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Howlingate manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
This has been an exciting period of action!

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
White working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Howlingate doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Howlingate manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

White has momentary wrist control but Howlingate slips an elbow through the middle.

White is looking for a triangle but Howlingate pushes his legs off easily.
White preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Howlingate is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.

Howlingate is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
White utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Howlingate looks to be in better condition than last time we saw him fight. Obviously he's been working hard on his cardio.
Howlingate throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.

White is working for submissions here. He's thrown up his legs looking for a triangle but Howlingate frees his head nicely. Oh but White has switched to an armbar! Howlingate is tapping furiously! Lovely submission there!
