The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Thompson throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Thompson has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.
The sound of bone on bone echoes around the arena as Roberts checks a leg kick.
Roberts throws a quick head kick that skims the top of Thompson's head.

It looks like Benny Thompson has been cut.
Thompson throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Roberts.
Roberts moves out of range of the body kick.

Thompson tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Roberts connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there.
Thompson walks forward and throws out a flicking leg kick. Roberts checks it nicely though, as he moves to the side.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Roberts throws a series of punches but Thompson moves out of range.

Thompson takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming.

Thompson slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range.

Thompson lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Roberts circles away quickly and effectively.
Whack! Roberts lands a heavy head kick that drops Thompson. The ref tackles Roberts to stop the fight - a great save by the referee because Thompson was done.
