Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Clifford Ross!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Grommas Hellscrem!
The judges for this bout are Ben Zyskovitsi, Matti Vanhoillinen and Arvi Lind.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ross looking to score a takedown here. Hellscrem is defending well but Ross drives through and ends up in Hellscrem's guard.
Ross cracks Hellscrem with a solid left hand.
Ross is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
Ross trying to stand up but can't free himself from Hellscrem's guard.
Ross has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
Ross is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.

Ross feints and as Hellscrem raises his hands in defense, Ross changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Ross is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.
Hellscrem pulls Ross in close to his closed guard and prevents Ross from doing any damage or advancing position.

Hellscrem tries to score a power double leg takedown but Ross sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Hellscrem somewhat.

Ross has managed to clinch.
Ross really is a fat lump.
Ross breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

and Ross moves into the clinch.
Hellscrem has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Ross after a bit of a struggle.
Clifford Ross has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Grommas Hellscrem.
Ross has Hellscrem pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Ross pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Hellscrem tumbling to the mat - Ross dives into Hellscrem's guard.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Clifford Ross.
Ross closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Ross tries to get to his feet but he's trapped momentarily.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.
Ross stuffs the takedown attempt from Hellscrem. Hellscrem gets slowly back to his feet.

Ross manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Hellscrem on his heels. He'll look to pass Hellscrem's guard now, I'm sure.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Ross accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Ross seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Hellscrem for as long as he can get away with.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.
We're going to have a standup here because Clifford Ross wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.
Hellscrem shoots in but Ross avoids the takedown attempt easily.

Ross shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Ross showed some decent athleticism there.

Ross bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Ross throws a knee to the body but it doesn't do much damage.
Clifford Ross overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Ross has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.

Ross has picked Hellscrem up - he's going for a ride! Ross dumps his opponent to the mat with a thud and settles into half guard.
Ross wants to take a breather but Hellscrem is having none of it.
Ross tries to pass to full mount but Hellscrem defends it.
The ref stands the fighters back up. Clifford Ross wasn't doing enough on the ground.
Hellscrem shoots in for a takedown but Ross shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.

Ross is looking to chop away at Hellscrem's legs.
Ross changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Hellscrem looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Ross thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
